Is ebay dead 2023

Yes. All of ebay's numbers are in the toilet. It has to do with bots, promoted listings, breaking the search function, and directly abusing sellers trust, and lying about all of these things on a regular basis. It's in such a way that I assume it's on purpose. eBay will be gone soon enough, just like it's customers. They will continue to bury your listings if you don't promote. They will rip away any views or attention your item gets monthly. They will keep charging you more money.

I for one LOVED all of the bots that were on eBay. I was getting non stop views, watchers, attention, and sales. It's been the complete opposite for a year or two. 0 views on an N64,an item that sells every day,and I used to sell one whenever listing one,no questions asked. I sell them locally all the time right now. Along with my 7 views no watchers on a Wii console. They sell in the hundreds every day of existence. I sell them locally constantly. All the things that ebay has done in an attempt to destroy the average seller is working great. Even if I list it again,it gets no views.

I have been able to struggle with rare antiques and make my money on eBay. But they were very pricey and rare.

The video game category has felt the brunt of all this, one of the largest money makers in the world today, especially on the internet...

But yes, since you searched " is ebay dead 2023", the answer is yes ,ebay is dead in 2023. I wouldn't make it your main thing, sell locally if possible and find other platforms

What items did you sell? I dont think your total store has 2000 of inventory. Prove it or it never happened

Re: Is ebay dead 2023

SINCE FOR NO RERASON they got rid of paypal all together.

EBay did not get rid of PP.

They were forced into it by vulture capitalist Carl Icahn.

When the relationship was ended (and Icahn took the money he harvested selling his shares) eBay realized they had a chance to update their system, get rid of some persistent problems with fraudsters and hijackers, and start getting the fees on payment processing the PP branch was now keeping.

This second of those two results is why there have been so many posts complaining about difficulty in registering for Managed Payments, and fewer complaints about hijacked buyer and seller accounts.

interesting situation. I've noticed the outrageously dramatic slow, this is peak season. Christmas for the wholeentire year

my IQ little bit different from him. I'm not feeling that well my body would otherwise I wouldn't be around. Believe me and that probably is to hopefully achieve here for instance,

The issue with the slight convalescing. It is the information you guys are selling, the reasons for the decline,

It's not just here looking around the Internet browsing. I haven't seen one reason that realistic  or major

the war you got to was going on. That's causing problems. Sometimes it makes people businesses by more government is meeting more purchasing not hear it slowing down the sales people are not buying because of it

Next Amazon is the main and  temu decimated eBay's business quickly temu has about 12 months. 10,000% saturation everywhere advertising that did a tremendous global goes a Chiinese national company, they should have been blocked because devastation to US industry interesting. What can be done. What can't be done

So you had temu devastating oursales  unfortunately eBay did not have  a clue what to do interesting plausibly that no ability to do anything not good

too much of a detriment that temu needed to be stopped

Next Amazon hop in massive warehouse, manufacturing1 to 2 days. Three days anywhere in the country immediate delivery. The prime racket. Free shipping lightning speed delivery and all of a sudden the dramatic extremely dramatic. They started matching eBay's prices like never before. Really, really hoping the prices everything a short time ago the year to three years ago, four years ago one year ago two years ago, everything on Amazon was more expects and the variety was less on certain items or many compliccated but they price match eBay down to the ground ship out side of eBaay's capacities and then eBay's rules the way eBay manages the site forget about the whole thing wipe them out. It' does not look good, all the fancy lingo other businesses in the family fan C, hippie executives top echelon executive people smarter silicone Valley college people forget about it

Re: Is ebay dead 2023

It's the economy that's dead.  Ebay itself is not helping, though, with their insane fees.  I used to make a decent chunk of money as a side hustle here, but I just took down all my listings - it's not worth it any more.

Re: Is ebay dead 2023

I think some sellers are faking listings and sales as part of a money laundering scheme (think where the hundreds of billions of fraudulent PPP loan dollars have been hidden). Same with Marketplace, a lot of non legitimate postings and sales. How else do you explain the absolute ridiculous postings of items that are out of touch, the squirrely new seller who looks like another recent seller. I just bought a tv on ebay .. a few days later the seller told me he broke it on the way to the shipper. Around the same time a new seller appeared on ebay with a new account and had the identical listing of the item I bought. I know it was the same seller, same location, same item, same words used in listing, same open box and used condition and description, exact same odd shipping price ($77.10), etc.  The only difference was that he raised the price. It was the only open box listing on ebay for this particular tv both times the seller listed it. It is an example of fake sales on eBay where the seller has come up with a story (fake business) to explain where the stolen money came from. Its been 10 days since I paid for the item and I still have not been refunded by ebay. I will never buy an expensive item again on ebay after this. This seller had sold many items with a perfect rating. Yet he would not answer my messages. Ebay has many issues, I see it slowly dying.

I have 8 sales channels, ebay is th worst, when it used to be the best. So yes, factually, it is a relic, a dead sales vector.

Ebay is not what it was if you're not given it away even then they don't want to fix Ebay coins fake listing outsourcing why always blame the seller they don't want are help even are Experience of how to fix their should be no negative feedback 11 years of positive feedback then 2023 2 negative feedbacks just for free stuff over cost on A return why not hire A PERSON WHO DOSE COINS FROM EACH COUNTRY WITH EXPERIENCE LIKE A CANADIAN COIN COLLECTORS RUN CANADIAN COINS SAME AS AMERICAN MEXICAN ETC BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW HOW OR WANT TO YOU'LL WHAT THE USE THEY DON'T CARE

Re: Is ebay dead 2023

Thievery and stealing is what will soon run me off EBay this year in near future. I can not tolerate the scams and bad policy for sellers. My bank protects me more and that’s crazy. Closing appeals with no input slowing sellers to keep your merchandise. I look back I must have been insane. It just didn’t catch up to me yet. That’s cool cause 2024 will not tolerate that style of commerce.

Re: Is ebay dead 2023

Does reporting do anything in this type of situation? I know in general reporting is only truly meaningful if many reports come in from multiple unrelated sources, but there are clear TOS about multiple account abuse and fraudulent seller behavior in particular (reporting fraudulent buyer behavior is just as important IMO, but it seems ebay is generally more inclined to side with buyers than sellers unless they are a very high volume seller [ie, basically a medium to large business that sells through ebay]).  It's up to you to decide if it's worth gathering the evidence and submitting it knowing you will never hear about what effect if any results from the time and effort it took you to report them, I wouldn't judge either way.

Mainly, I'm curious if anyone knows if reporting situations like this ever make any difference?

Re: Is ebay dead 2023

I hope you urge using "vintage" when "vintage style" is the most accurate.  New items being sold as "vintage," regardless of country of origin, mislead.  Without getting into the finer points of what is, and what is not "vintage."  New items being listed as "vintage," and even "preworn" that are not, break buyer trust, and create headaches for sellers and buyers.  No?

Re: Is ebay dead 2023

To paraphrase what Frank Zappa said about Jazz in 1975:  "Ebay's not dead, it just smells funny".

Sellers are hostile.  Prices and shipping are hyperinflated.   Add to this the Government having a death grip on both buyers and sellers with their completely dishonest "tax your grandma's moldy bloomers if you decide to sell them here" smash-and-grab tax policies.   So yes.  I am IN MOURNING for what used to be one of the GREATEST platforms and a critical survival tool for me and my family during the first two decades of my eBay membership.  The platform might well be propped up by the very, very "well to do" and I acknowledge that eBay doesn't care where the money comes from, as long as it keeps coming in.  But I'm priced and taxed out of this marketplace, both as a buyer and as a seller.

Re: Is ebay dead 2023

I don't mind that it's dead, I mind that it's dead and still extorting you money. In my case nearly approx 35% of each sale:

This isn't a good way to do business.
