PP 180 day return policy is the most ridiculous creation of the century.

PP is going to do all they can to retrieve all the money they will lose with ebay.

No kidding. 😣 Paypal is not our friend, it's just another payment system.

It wont be functional if it gets inundated with stuff. More mega stuff a click away to spend 100 hours on . LOL.

"Sorry - NO payment system is 'your own control over your money".
Your right, but if you have an on-line presence you need to have a payment processor and PayPal offers sellers the most control.... I get paid instantly and I can spend the money instantly online or deposit the money into my Bank account within 24hrs. PayPal has the infrastructure to support all my needs including a streamlined accounting system and competent customer service representatives.

I understand. I just dispute the illusion that somehow we have direct control over our money in using payment processors. Payment processors are in the business to make money, and they make money off our money. Just never forget that and it's all good.

Is it ridiculous? I don't know, because I've never had a return in 15 years of using PayPal. I have complete confidence in the product I sell and my customer base so I'm not too concerned with PayPal's Return Policy.

Try to be aware of all terms and conditions of any payment system you use - just because a policy hasn't affected YOU doesn't mean that it's somehow magicked out of existence.

I fed website listings to Google Shopping for a long time before it went to the paid model in 2012. I don’t know if I had sales from there because my website metrics were not as robust as they are now. It’s worth a try for a little effort.
it would seem to be a lot of work to change the worldwide sites to free only to switch them back to paid. Maybe they’re getting a kickback from PayPal?

Noting that this article dates back to April, the big news is the alignment between Google, Paypal, and Spotify. It is probably the main reason that Ebay handed out nearly unlimited listings to store owners and not out of altruism. The main impact upon Ebay is that the large anchor store sellers will be hedging their bets and listing their products on other sites as well.

I used Google shopping, also - I also used it when it went to paid, but then the as-designed system drove the prices out of reach of most businesses.
Paypal, as far as everything I've read, doesn't factor into it as a primary motive - as a payment processor of course it would benefit. Here's a good discussion:

Yes - the sheer mass number of free listings made me think it had more to do with attracting large businesses to trade on eBay.

It'll also be a bridge, so to speak, to PLAs.

In my 25 years with Paypal and over a million dollars in transactions I have never once had an issue with Paypal.
