That's not tyranny, that's capitalism.

Well, teach me capitalism? I am all ears, is it controlled by 5 or 10 companies? or by mom-and-pop shops that you longer see., capitalism is supposed to be fair but is subject to abuse like everything else.

Can you give ONE example where you eBay isn’t subject to the laws of the countries it’s operating in?

Well, I was not reporting facts, just asking a question, questions don't need examples, I would think

Tyrant no, big business yes. EBay is driven by the same motivation that drives most businesses, make money and the more you make the better. EBay may operate in some gray area's but they have also been sued a number of times for legal violations and lost.
If you think they are operating outside the law can you provide some examples? In the political arena a lot of "tyrants" meet their end in a coup d'état, big business meets theirs when competitors enter the market place and they begin to loose profitability or they become unattractive to investors. There is a LONG list of businesses that have failed: Sears, K-Mart, Montgomery Wards, Packard, International Harvester, Pan AM..............

You asked a question, answered it and qualified your answer with an example
of why you thought so…

What is an example of tyrant?a ruler who is unconstrained by law.
You think Ebay doesn't have to comply with laws? That is very odd. Let me give you just a bit of light reading.
If Ebay were NOT following the laws, they wouldn't issue 1099Ks, they wouldn't collect and remit sales tax for the appropriate states, They would let sellers presale stuff that can't get delivered for months and so on and so on.

What has that have to do with not complying with laws? Every single corporation that I'm aware of does this. Walmart, Safeway, Macy, Target, etc. etc. We live in a capitalist society, why would it be different for Ebay? They own the site, they have every right to set the fees and services within the laws of the states and federal laws.

@allen1853 wrote:So, eBay tempts me with TEN THOUSAND FREE LISTINGS. I am a one man operation and have about 2200 listings. The last year eBay has been tyrannical for sure. It is bad enough "quitting" and walking away from the hard work creating 2200 listings. What if I had 10,000? I honestly think that is part of the tyrannical evil plan. Make it so sellers CAN'T quit.
You have the right not to list that many listings. There is nothing that says you have to list all those listings. This has been a perk for some time now and I like it. It saves me over $25 a month because I was able to downgrade my store and still have plenty of free listings.
So for me, I say THANK YOU Ebay!

That is a legit request. Can we as you to start us off because how you started this thread is what lead to the direction this thread has gone.
Please tell us how Ebay does NOT comply with any laws. Also how is it that Ebay, a for profit corporation, is a "tyrant".

Sellers do NOT own Ebay. We are merely members. Just like when you go to Macy's. You enter as a customer and may purchase stuff. It doesn't give you any ownership of Macy's or the ability to tell them how they should run their corporation.
I know on Ebay often sellers think they have more authority than they actually do.

You did not present it as a question but as a statement.
