I have a potential buyer who has sent me their zip code so I can calculate shipping costs. BUT...I get this message when trying to open his message: The question you are trying to answer is either invalid or older than 90 days. You cannot respond to questions older than 90 days.
He just sent it today! Frustrating. I've closed and reopened, tried accessing in all the areas where I can possibly see messages, but no luck. Any suggestions?

I randomly get this error message but there is no pattern to it and I never know when it is going to show up. I simply do as simply-the-best-for-you stated and it works fine.

It might work for me once in awhile, but frankly, it's been so long since I could click on questions and have the question show for me that I stopped a couple years ago even trying. I always go straight for my emails to answer.

If it's one of your items that you have OBO on, the zip code will be shown in the offer. Was it, possibly?

Same here. I was having the problem so often, I just started only replying from my email.

I don't remember if this bug has an ALERT number or how OP can add herself to the list? I think it was Elizabeth who was well aware of this problem. I know I've talked to one of you about it before & provided screen shots, but it was a long time ago & I don't recall who it was. Any word on updates? This has been a problem going on 2 years now.

This has happened to me a few times. Sometimes signing out and then signing in solves the problem. DId you try that? How about trying a different device?

I do use Firefox, so maybe switching to chrome might help. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks, zip code doesn't show, just the city (which has many different zip codes)

I had tried logging out and back in, but no luck. I actually just shut down the computer (Using a desktop computer) and turned it back on and that solved the problem, for now.

Any ZIP Codes with the same first 3 digits will all have the same postage cost. So you can just pick one of the ZIP Codes for the city.

No. It won't help. I use Chrome & have the problem a lot.

Logging out also won't help. Turning off the PC likely only helped b/c you probably had your settings such that cache/cookies would clear upon shutdown. If you didn't, like I don't, that wouldn't have helped either.

Hey @simply-the-best-for-you! We looked through some of our tickets that have been open in the past and we saw that this issue is still open and working to be resolved under ALERT14323. If sellers are still experiencing this I would recommend reaching out to customer support to have their account added to the ticket.

Nope, it is truly a periodic bug and clearing the cache doesn't help, at least in my case. I don't use email so just answer the message from "Messages" in the upper right hand corner of the seller hub.
It's an odd glitch because it'll come and go - I didn't have it for several months, and then it came back today. I doubt it's a browser issue because the message is eBay specific, but?

It's not a browser issue, we've been through that before. I agree @chapeau-noir , as I was responding yesterday, I realized I hadn't seen it for a long time & then sure enough, last night, I got one, after not seeing it for months either. So you're not alone with that aspect.
devon@ebay Thank you Devon. It's been open for a long time, any possibility of getting an update? @myatticcorners1 you can contact eBay Customer Support as Devon mentioned & give them the ALERT number he posted.
