I have not noticed any slowdown when searching or checking my lists.

What sorts of things appear to be slow for you?
Any difference if you try another browser?

It is for a lot of people, depending on what you sell. Selling on eBay has always been a series of peaks and valleys, anyway.

Nope, my sales are through the roof. If you run promoted listings you need to bulk edit the ad rate every few days to get a boost.

After brisk summer sales about 10 days ago our sales dropped dramatically. This should be the start of the ebay Christmas buying season. So, the slowdown is a little scary.
Honestly, we're getting too old for this roller coaster ride. LoL
Good luck!

That's what I'm hearing across the board for both local business owners as well as other online sellers. Something changed about a week ago and people are shutting down on their spending. I have had 2 calls this week from friends who own local businesses that are unrelated to my business in any way and they both asked what I thought was going on. One of them deals with rather wealthy customers who are home builders, investors, large tract land owners etc as he owns an excavating business. He spoke all year of how busy they were and how the phone wouldn't quit ringing. He stated that at the beginning of this week the phone stopped ringing and he's even had a couple of customers call wanting to put projects on hold as they're getting jittery about the economy. My business is primarily a spring-fall busy season and winter isn't the greatest. For whatever reason both online and local sales were full bore up until the end of last week. Now it's done a complete 180 and I have customers coming out of the wood work offering to sell me inventory. It happens every year to some degree but it's usually a slow transition. This year it has happened all at once. Those without money are REALLY without money and those with money are REALLY tightening up. Just keep hammering away at it and this too shall pass.

What MIGHT be happening is that people suddenly realized 2 things. First, that they were broke. Second, that Christmas is coming up.
So, after paying the end-of-month bills for September, they decided to save/find/cash in whatever they could to buy presents later in the year.
Whatever it is, it's only a matter of time before the whole economy crashes. Almost half the country is hungry and nearly homeless.
Good luck!

I agree with iart.
Good summer sales then about 10 days ago our sales dropped to less than half of usual.
Promoted listings are not helping.
Did the really big guys recently add millions of listings for the holiday season?
I know all ecommerce marketplace news sites (and local news casts) are encouraging buyers to shop very early to make sure they receive their items given the inability of USPS to handle large volumes of packages - based on the dismal record of late deliveries and missing mail due to Covid.

Yes, it's been a slow weekend, but it's been a phenomenal year. Just catching my breath till 4Q kicks in.

Oh Yes it has slowed down. Sales are almost freeze framed! And then there are the bidders who bid and don't bother to pay for the item and never respond at all to your messages. They just disappear into nowhere ! And other than be puzzled there is not a thing you can do about it.

Let's face it - 2020 has been an unusual year. Normally Jan/Feb and Oct/Nov account for 60% of my sales with mid-May to mid-Aug and Dec being the slow periods. For the first nine months of 2020 - the first 10 weeks of the year and the last two weeks of Sept. accounted for only 10% of my sales to date. Total sales were unusually good from mid-Mar to mid-Sept, but varied greatly among my four accounts from month to month.
Economic uncertainty is now taking its toll with more layoffs being announced each week and no stimulus forthcoming. And online buyers might be waiting to see what deals Amazon Prime Days in mid-October bring. As the virus drags on - I'm not sure how many folks are going to be doing much Christmas shopping. I expect the fourth quarter is going to be the biggest disappointment of the year for many sellers both online and in brick and mortar.
I'll just be thankful for whatever sales come my way, and hope things return to a semblance of normalcy in 2021.

Yes- I’m very slow right now and yawning. Time for more coffee so I can get new listings up fresh for Monday morning shoppers. ☕
But if you’re talking about slow sales- no, sorry. This is when things pick up steam. The past month has been the start of Holiday selling season.
