Is this simply one of eBay's many "technical glitches" that pop up? It's been 3 days now and no resolution/correction to this issue.

I haven't seen this issue I've shipped a dozen or so packages in the past couple of days, you are the first to mention it.
Have you tried clearing your browser history, cookies cache?
Sometimes if you have a page bookmarked it gets corrupted. Clearing history helps.

Cleared everything and nothing changed. It was initially fine which allowed me to ship the item.
The following day, the "Task" items appeared and the "Shipped and awaiting your feedback" number dropped from 9 to 8.

Yes, I actually sold 3 items on Sunday, 12/29 and all three were shipped out Monday am - 12/30.
I always ship same day or next day depending on when items are purchased.
This was in conjunction with an issue that popped up earlier in the week where I was not receiving sales confirmations via email (and confirmed on Sunday night by an Ebay Customer Service Agent).
Of the 3 items sold Sunday, I received 2 email confirmations. The one in question came with no email confirmation but there was proof in payment since I processed the sale Sunday night.

I have a line showing overdue, but nothing is there when I click on it. It also shows a number for ready to be shipped with the detail showing one item less than the number.

To make matters worse, the item that had no confirmation and then became "shipping overdue"...the item had to have the tracking # added to the sale manually. But under my Seller Status statistics "Tracking uploaded on time and validated", I got dinged for the "item shipping late", even though it was shipped on time (and actually was delivered a day early). I contacted Ebay to have the issue sent to appeal to have it removed.
