Inventory Liquidation

Hi I had a business online on amazon and ebay and walmart we closed store and would like to sell the remaining inventory as bulk. Inventory available in Abilene, Texas
We have a product list, qty, wholesale prices with pictures and Upc numbers, item title.
In addition to the inventory we have the shelvings that held the items that we are selling separately but will offer at a good price if the same buyer.
the inventory total wholesale cost is around $138,000 plus more that we considered not new condition because of packaging condition that we didn't calculate. we are taking best offer.
If anyone has any idea how to sell it please let me know I have till Jan 25th to be done with it.

List it on eBay, because advertising it on this message board is a violation of eBay rules.

eBay isn't really the best venue for a big liquidation like that, especially give your tight timeline.  There must be businesses in the Abilene area that can handle an auction or other type of liquidation sale.

It's listed on eBay but, as here, not even a hint as to what all this inventory may be:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/255312087785?hash=item3b71c94ae9:g:nTMAAOSwVdph0zzg

Since current listings are mostly for clothing and accessories, I assume that's what the warehouse is full of.

I don't like such advertising here, either, by the way, but since the banner for this forum starts with the phrase "Looking for something new to sell?" I can see why people would think it's okay.

You have been on ebay for 20 years, right?  And just now you are running up against a January 25th deadline to dump a warehouse of inventory and don't have a plan?

There are companies that specialize in this sort of thing.  Look for a liquidator that can move fast and see if they offer you more than a penny on the dollar to help you out.  In many cases I have seen the owner of a pile pay to have a liquidator haul it off.

Did you lose the lease on a building?  Or maybe you have sold the building where you stored your massive inventory?

The plot thickens.

You should contact a wholesale liquidator.  But be aware that liquidation prices are about 10% of cost so do not be surprised to get offers of around $15,000 for the lot.

I second this. Auction liquidation. That's how any big business liquidates inventory.

You may be able to find one person to buy it all, but it will be pennies on the dollar. I buy liquidation that way, pennies on the dollar.

I don't know if this applies to the type of listing you have ( classified ad) but just in case, here is some information about use of photos with lettering in them;

https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/listing-policies/picture-policy?id=4370

The following are not allowed:

  • Photos that don't accurately represent the item
  • Placeholder images used to convey messages
  • Stock photos for used, damaged, or defective items
  • Photos with added borders
  • Photos with added text, artwork or marketing material
  • Watermarks of any type, including those used for ownership attributions”
