Editor v2 takes a big step forward in providing community users with a modern message editing experience. Read on to learn about all the message editor improvements.
With Editor v2, you can drag and drop images, videos, and file attachments directly to the message editing pane or as attachments to the post.
To reposition, re-size (small, medium, large) and insert a hyperlink for an image, you need only click on the image and choose the appropriate option inline.
Emojis are a powerful medium for expressing one’s thoughts and emotions. An emoji such as “👍” can be used to replace the text - “All the Best!” or “Best of Luck!” or “Well Done!”.
Editor v2 brings you the Unicode standard set of 2500+ emojis divided across 8 categories. Emojis are supported across both Apple and Windows devices.
When you click on a link or use the arrow keys to move the cursor over a link in your post, the inline link pop-up menu displays:
From the inline link pop-up menu, you can click:
We made several improvements to the message editing toolbar to optimize it and make it more consistent:
Toolbars across all discussion styles are now consistent and have the same controls. Moreover, the toolbars include many more options that cater to all messaging scenarios.
We hope you enjoy using these new features!

Just off an extended chat with Apple iPad tech support. (Your suggestion after I tried all on my own inspired me to do so; glad I did; learned more.) I’ll put the update over on the thread in tools & apps.

Thank you! You can see why those color issues are a big deal for me and other sellers in similar categories! It will start to get noticed!

Excellent ... for myself I will shoot with and without the camera flash and state that in Conditions and Description, the contrast between pictures gives a better representation of the actual color of the item. Camera flash technology is based on white opposed to black ... its one of the reasons good wedding photographers know to over expose pictures with the bride so her gown washes out but her face and complexion come out looking right.

Maybe Ebay should try to spend as much time fixing their site as is wasted on the forums which are dying, and too heavily censored.
Or better yet, get rid of the forums entirely.
Hi @papermoneyforme,
The use of eBay forums is optional. If being here makes you unhappy then it might be a good idea to take a break or use other forums instead.
Thanks.

If it's not broken then why fix it?
Ebay fixed it and now it's broken.
😩
Hi @wesk_36,
The previous editor was a couple of years old, used old technology and had a number of critical bugs that meant we needed to move away from it.
Thanks.

If you want to enhance my posting and overall board experience, bring back the ignore button.
If you REALLY want to enhance the posting experience, add a general reply button - you know, one where a general post can be made instead of a reply to the poster you happen to be posting under. There would be no "in reply to: blah blah", just the time and date stamp.
Instead of quick reply and reply, both which are replies to the poster directly above, you would have a reply (general) and a reply to (direct reply) button.
That's MY biggest (by far) annoyance here - that and the authentication issues.
Thanks for sharing, @southern*sweet*tea. We'll keep these suggestions in mind.

Hello Alan,
Thank you for this posting and the brief tutorial!
It is nice that the format isn't worse than the old, in fact, at first efforts, perhaps even better. 😁 I suppose it is to be expected since Lithium/Khoros is into playing with the real big boys now. Interesting read.
Thanks, again, for your diligence. Hope your Holiday was great and that the New Year is good to you and yours.
(well, I guess the happy faces need a little tweeking) 🙂
Happy New Year, @gracieallen01! The holidays were nice. I got to chill with my family. Hope yours was good too! 😁
Glad to hear that you like the updates!

I’m being told it is for the board. But it is way too coincidental that they add a new photo editor to the board at the same time the listing photo editing program starts washing out our new listing photos. And there are others noticing the same problem but we’ve been moved to tools & apps where no one can find us LOL. The other seller who is bothered by it posted the problem in tools & apps three days ago and as predicted has had no technical response what so ever. So now, my post about it has been moved there too, where it will likely get ignored too. I can’t list any new photos until they fix it. What a nightmare.
Hi @krys888,
Sorry to hear you're experiencing issues on eBay. This announcement is related only to the new text editor on the eBay Community. It isn't related to the eBay marketplace where you buy and sell. If you are experiencing tech issues with the marketplace, you can post on our tech issues discussion board (https://community.ebay.com/t5/Technical-Issues/bd-p/technicalissues-db) or contact eBay Customer Service (https://www.ebay.com/help/home) to see if they're aware of the issue you are experiencing.
Many thanks.

Why do you read comments out of context?
I said Ebay should spend more time fixing the site instead of the forums.

I understand that now and the issue posts have been moved over to Tools & Apps where I’m hoping we’ll be able to get it resolved.

While I understand the sentiments, I think it should be considered that CSR's and Senior Management is guiding people to these forums for help, support, and answers for issues that they do not have answers for.
I'm not sure if you are aware, but they are directly telling sellers that "the only way the tech team will address these problems is if enough people report it". They tell us the community forum is the place we can band together to get these problems addressed.
I would hope, considering buyers and sellers are being guided here, that these forums would nurture an environment that encourages users who are desperate to help to share their problems, and works to assist them in a constructive way.
If I'm being honest, this type of response doesn't seem like it's nurturing that type of environment. "Take it or leave it" isn't really a positive result for either side.
Where are we supposed to go for help when eBay is running us in circles, not addressing issues that were known for months, not giving us a place to receive that help?
CSR's have also told us this is the place we should bring up major issues because the forums are now being "ran by corporate". I can't say if that's actually true or not, but CSR's are giving hope that we'll get real answers by coming here. It makes me sad to see people desperate for things to be fixed to be told to leave, especially by a place that's supposedly representative of eBay as a company.

Ever since you enhanced the boards I cannot quote people, I get more red bars of "unauthorized use" and I get logged out of the forums.
I can't use emoji's and I have to post, cut and paste and try 2-3 times to post.
What am I doing wrong?
