International Shipping Program Issues

The setup:  I am enrolled in the new EISP.  I have never chose to allow international shipping on any of my listings but did double check to see if any of my shipping polcies had it and they did not so should be good with the new program and I do not have any 'exclusion' list.  Everything looks like its good to go.

The issue:  I recently had a customer contact me via message, asking me to reconsider selling my item to him as he is in Saudi Arabia.  When I looked at the item he is interested in, Ebay has listed a number of Countries it wouldnt ship to (Ships to:  United States ... Excludes: Barbados, French Guiana, French Polynesia, Guadeloupe, Libya, Martinique, New Caledonia, Reunion, Russian Federation, Ukraine, Venezuela) but Saudi Arabia wasnt one of them.  Again, I have no exclusions on any of my policies or in any of my seller preferences or restrictions on who can buy from me.  I told the buyer to try again as I thought that only recently I had been enrolled into the new EISP.  A couple days later he contacted me again and showed me a screenshot that it was still saying "this seller will not ship to central saudi arabia, update shipping address or find another seller with the same item".

The questions:  What determines which countries are automatically excluded from the new EISP by Ebay if seller has no exclusion list?  Shouldnt Ebay list all the countries it automatically excludes in the listing? Does item size and weight determine what is not accepted for the new EISP?  (my items in question are long, larger items)

Other of my listings show a long list of where the item will ship internationally and then an exclusion list.  This is obviously generated automatically by Ebay as I have no settings that would affect it.  What determines this?  (btw - ive not seen Saudi Arabia as an inclusion or exclusion)

Re: International Shipping Program Issues

What is the type of item?  Is it  possible it's excluded by category for some reason?

Re: International Shipping Program Issues

Automatic EIS exclusions are set up based on a variety of factors including:

- A list of prohibited items

- Price

- Package size/weight

- Country import restrictions

Saudi Arabia has a lot of restrictions. If this was a Christmas item (I mention that because it's the first item I saw when looking at your listings) then it's banned based on Saudi Arabia import laws on religious items.

Re: International Shipping Program Issues

Item = Porcelain Doll

I wonder if Ebay is refusing to ship there because of its size, it is a large doll  - 32" so the packaging would be 36"x16"x16"

  • Packages should not exceed:
    • 44 lbs. billable weight for every country except Canada (maximum billable weight for Canada is 66 lbs.)
    • 48 inches in length, 118 inches in length + girth (Girth = 2 x width + 2 x height)

https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/shipping-items/setting-shipping-options/ebay-international-shippin...

Your package is 100 inches in length + girth so that's not the issue.

The problem is Saudi Arabia's restrictions on importing toys.

Re: International Shipping Program Issues

Thank you, that makes sense.  The buyer, who collects these dolls, has told me that he has successfully gotten them from the US before but admittantly says its been hit and miss.  I appreciate your time.

Re: International Shipping Program Issues

Weird that my other toys/games are not excluding Saudi Arabia ... beanie babies, action figures, card games, Wii Games ... just these collector dolls.

I have tried quite a number of things including, adding one country exclusion to a list, ending and selling similar listing, changing shipping policies to a different policy, to a new created policy, and still United States is the only option for shipping, even on the drop down.  I am not seeing this on any other listing of mine that I checked.... I currently do not have any items with international shipping checked as per the requirement.  I also dont have any exclusions but Ebay puts the following Country exclusion down on their own.

@dkproducts  A female doll?  There are weird rules about female bodies.  May well be that a board game is fine, but a Barbie doll is not.
