I am returning to selling on eBay after a bit of a stretch (like, a decade lol) away from selling.
Do you include a printed invoice, packing slip, receipt, etc., with your shipments when you send them?
Previously there was a Print Invoice option, but now it appears to be available only with the Print Shipping Label option, and I use an external shipping program (to keep costs down).
Is it possible to print an invoice without printing a label? Or do you generate your own? Or just skip it altogether?
I'd love to hear your thoughts / experiences please! Thanks in advance!

I always provide a packing slip with my sales. And yes, you can print the packing slip without using ebay for your shipping.
From the sellers hub click on the the print label (or whatever it says) to the left of the item as if you were going to purchase shipping from ebay. It will take you to the page where you buy postage. Above where the choices for what carrier and shipping method it says 'print a packing slip' or something close to that. If you click on that you can print the invoice/packing slip. Then you can just click out of that page without purchasing shipping.
I don't have a sale in front of me (my sales are down like many others on the board ) so I'm probably getting the wording wrong---hopefully someone will be able to clarify the correct wording. I had to look around for this the first time, but once I found it it was easy to use.

Yes I include a packing list. I believe it is professional and helps the buyer to identify the seller, especially if they buy similar items from different sellers at the same time. It also provides information if they bought multiple items, they can see that all of them are in the package.
I also print my own, but I believe you can also do it through Paypal if you choose.

ALL packages should include a packing slip showing the From and To addresses and the contents whether or not they include prices. Too many things can happen to outer labels.

Thank you for the advice.

There is no added cost to print your label from ebay.

True, there is no added cost - but I get commercial pricing from an outside company so it's cheaper to use them 🙂 Thank you though!

AHA! Thank you so much! I'm so old that I didn't know there was such a thing as a seller's hub lol - if anyone else hasn't signed up yet, you can find it here:

Thanks again!!!

Really? I priced shipments last month and there was quite a difference - I saved almost $2 shipping a 5 lb package over using eBay labels. But maybe their pricing structure has changed recently - I'll have to check again! Thank you!

Everybody gets Comm Base through eBay. TRS get Comm Plus through eBay. Sellers can get Comm Plus through other companies even if they're not TRS on eBay and can also get Cubic rates through other companies. Your shipping needs and the number of venues you sell on can make services from other companies less expensive than using eBay labels.

Wouldn't you think, after over 20 YEARS of business, Ebay would have a simple, "ONE CLICK" option to print packing slip? Instead of View Order Detail, then Printer Friendly page.
