Impoverished

I am out of ideas at this point items that retail for 12.95 I have on sale for 4.99 free shipping they cost 2.77 to ship plus the envelope

I have many items below cost and lotsa watchers

In 4 days my truck wont be registered my rents will be due my ebay fees will be due my website is off because I cant pay for it my phone is past due

10 of my items say they have contact information which they dont

I have 434k in inventory and cannot go anywhere because i dont have any gas in my truck

I have tried other sites yardsales swap meets etc....

I am truly discouraged I cannot make it on 500 per month in sales especially with returns

people on social sites have come here looking for my items and cannot find them I dont get it

Are our insertion fees enough to keep eBay happy ?

I have to sell stuff or my account will be suspended for the fees I incur with no sales

yes I sold a seat and a drop hitch this month but I had to buy materials and leather  is not cheap and the hitch weighes almost 30 pounds

I hope this is not my last post

Re: Impoverished

first off I dont know where you are pulling that from but it is highly inaccurate most of it is doubled second of all I sold seats in august that were returned one of them was 929.00 so after you look at real selling numbers without even calculating fees I brought in 500 I have not sold 2 things in one day for many months so how can I have sold 2 things on sept 7th and september 9th ?

I used to sell 1300-2000 per day something is very wrong here

I have many items with only 17 veiws they all say 17 veiws weirdness

I came here to try and figure out how to sell 2k in the next 5 days instead you are dwelling on something that didnt happen

If I sold 3300.00 I would not be here asking for advice I did NOT sell 33 items on sept 9th either ?

You have some very nice items and I hope it works out for you.

Her fb % cant be helping her either.

The only advice I can give is that on darker items that arent stock photos, you need to have better lighting, that chiffon dress is beautiful, but it desperately needs front lighting. The Jessica McClintock as well.

Oh and on the Tattoo Style Long Sleeve Tshirt, its NWT, use the brand name, its got tags on it!

Also maybe start advertising some of your stuff as xmas gifts.

You've got great items, if I can think of anything else to help, I'll let you know

2k in 5 days. Ok, try 3 day auctions with BIN. Also try promoting a few listings for sales boost. I am so far in the hole too and i am dishearted but i have faith. I will say a prayer for you if that helps.

Re: Impoverished

If you have a following on social media who are looking for your items and can't find them, why are you not posting direct links to your store? I can't imagine you are tweeting 'go buy my items' and then just letting people try to search for stuff...

You say you've been here for 10 years and insist that your items are suitable for eBay. Okay, you've been here for 10 years and now your sales are nothing. Something's changed, perhaps the market for your items on eBay has changed. Obviously something has taken a turn somewhere. Just sayin'

I also have to wonder why it seems you have such a high return rate. Perhaps it's the stock photos?

Re: Impoverished

plate carrier cost about 19.00 to ship and vendor wont let me go any lower on retail price MAAP price is enforced

Are you dropshipping these items?

I'm just puzzled about why your supplier gets to tell you what to sell for.

You may also find this useful:

http://www.i-ways.net/mobile-friendly/en-us/

Over 50% of online sales are now done from mobiles. And eBay looks very different on a phone than on a computer.

An earlier poster mentioned that the first four title words are the most important. That's part of the mobile selling paradigmn.

For example, those fuel pumps have a lot of information that would be better printed on a piece of paper and included with the pump, rather than on your description.

Re: Impoverished

I'm sorry I can't offer many real suggestions your items all seem to be priced competitvely or below, one thing I noticed right away and I would try to change is the baseball caps/hats they seem to have been hard to move lately if you can go any lower on those and still profit I would consider doing so.

Not sure if I can give advice here but I will try to help. This is just my opinion and you can do with it what you wish.

I think the problem is not with ebay it is a flawed business model. Stop putting money in it for a while and just pull money out. Remove anything that doesn't make money for you and concentrate on things that make money. Concentrate on using any profit to get the bills caught up, not restocking or listing. Go back to the start and start over working with the things that made money.

Try to keep as little inventory as possible especially if you don't have the cash to buy it or have debts to pay first. It is dead money. When you have a large inventory and are in the black it is a whole lot different then if you are in the red. It puts on a lot pressure but an inability to get out of it.

If you are incumbered by others in your pricing and selling it may not be the things you want to sell. The reason to sell here is the freedom to do it your way, selling for others takes that away. Stay Lean and mean.

Just food for thought.

Which ones of these don't you see?

luckythewinner, that long list of sales from September 9th may be old. If they were GTC listings that the seller ended on September 9th they would show as sold on September 9th in the sold history. If the seller sold items from the GTC listings 1 day or 10 months ago would not matter, they appear as sold on the day the listings are ended in our view of sold history.

I don't know if that's what happened here but it could be why the seller says sales were much lower than what can be seen in sold history.

to make a 499.00 seat it cost me leather time fees and 40 bucks shipping

Have you tried going to local bike dealers that don't do their own custom work and asking if they would refer buyers to you who are looking for things like custom seats? Are their retail shops in your area that would consider selling some of your custom products?

With so much inventory maybe you can go through and pull out large lots to sell locally to another seller or a local retail shop. Even if you don't make a profit maybe you can recoup most of your fees. You're looking for quick cash to pay bills so liquidating part of your merchandise could solve that immediate need.

Re: Impoverished

My sales have been decimated. Slow summer followed by a drought. Every seller in my category is suffering. Only ebay knows the cause of this unprecedented slump, and they're not talking! And I have no faith that they can solve he situation. I want to have a 50%-off sale and throw in the towel, but I'm not sure whether I will even get a response to such a cheap sell-off. I hate to say it, but I think that ebay is finished, at least for the smaller, individual sellers. GOOD LUCK TO YOU -- and everybody else!

I don't think anyone has addressed this issue yet, so here is some help to fix this problem. eBay is sending the "contact information" warnng out for listings that have off-eBay links, non-secure links (ie. http instead of https) and bad link targets as well.

You can scan your listings here (tool courtesy of @shipscript😞

http://www.isdntek.com/ebaytools/ActiveContentScanner.htm

And it will identify the listings that need to be revised, and give you help on how to revise htem. If you have more questions about this, it is best to ask on the Replacing Active Content DB. Shipscript is quite active there.
