Hi guys,
I have a few questions related to importing to China via Ebay, hopefully I will get the help I need thanks to you.
1. We already have an Ebay store, but we did not ship yet to China, but we want to. The thing is that we want to ship to only a few regions from China. So to do that, should I open a new Ebay platform linked to the old one? Or shall I just open a new Ebay store?
2. What would be the shipping costs? What about the shipping timing? What are the best ways to ship products there? Is it worthy to import there keeping in mind that the chinese market is hectic and very cheap, comparative with the European market.
3. What are the best regions to do business with when it comes about IT/technological equipment?
4. Doing business with China will change the Ebay costs? (the costs of the platform)
Thank you for your help!

You don't have to do either. You can use the same store you use for other international shipments.
What would be the shipping costs?
As with shipping to almost anywhere in the world, the shipping costs wold depend entirely upon the size, weight , and class of shipping used.
Doing business with China will change the Ebay costs?
No, but they would change the PayPal costs if you accept payment from PayPal. Cross border payments have a slightly higher fee, and of course you would be paying PayPal fees on the higher shipping cost.
For international sales, the eBay final value fee on shipping cost is calculated based on the lowest domestic shipping cost you list.

Thank you! 🙂

I think the main question you need to deal with is: How are you going to ship to China?
Are you shipping quantity? If so, are you shipping freight? If not, are you using the Post Office, FedEx, DHL, UPS?
How are you going to make sure that it arrives? ebay is going to want 'on-line, viewable tracking' to avoid some kind of claim.
Are you going to use GSP? They are going to want to charge customs, VAT, etc. fees, along with postage. What about broker's fees?
And, if it is IT/Tech equipment, is it legal to sell/ship to China?
You may want to think long and hard on how you are going to ship - before you commit.
(just for starters - and then there may be other problems and/or concerns)

I also have one more question, please.
How can we choose products we (don’t) want to sell to Asia?
You would have to set your international shipping preferences in each listing when you create them. The items you are willing to ship to China would be included. Those that aren't would be excluded. You can't just say "ships to China" or "no shipping to China". The blocks need to be in place.
Without knowing exactly what you are willing to send, do you realize eBay and PAYPAL require online viewable tracking? Unless it shows delivery, you do not have seller protection for item not received. There is a list of countries eligible for E-Delcon shipping via first class international mail and China is not on the list. For Priority and Priority Express, it isn't always consistent. And there is virtually no service to provide online viewable signature which is required for all items valued at $750 or more. All it takes is one buyer to claim they didn't receive their item. Whether it's true or false, unless you can prove delivery (or signature when necessary), you'll be refunding and likely lose the item.
Many sellers will not accept the risk. Best of luck!

You are in Belgium asking about selling/shipping to China. You'd probably get better answers from a European Board such as the UK..... We, in the US, aren't going to know the details of shipping FROM Europe......

I have GOT to start looking to see where the poster is from!

Hi, thank you for your answers. We ship via DHL. And we usually track the transportations via DHL and FedEX (once in a while). So far we don't use GSP. At the moment I am trying to find the best ways to ship to China and to learn about their market.
Probably the best way to learn is to go there. 'First Hand' is about the only way to learn and make a profit - if there is one to be made - as second or third hand always includes a 'middleman'.

Not sure if you can block some areas of china.
Here in the states, we can't block states other than HI and AK.
Depending on what you are selling, you might find that they do knockoffs and flood the market.

Hi,
the service only exists in the US, so it's no European Community to talk with.

Not correct, what DH was saying was to ask on the UK community boards.
They are closer to the EU, and may have better answers.
I am thinking ebay sites, like Germany and France have their own boards also ?
