I read an article about a seller who met with a Congressman about a lot of issues they believe eBay was crossing moral , ethical and legal lines. It got me to thinking what would other sellers bring up to a Congressman if they had an opportunity to talk with one?

Lower the 1099K amount to $10.00 like the 1099Int , 1099R, 1099Div, 1099B, 1099Misc, and etc.

Require the USPS to crack down on sellers using media mail to ship ineligible items. It hurts all sellers because the USPS has to charge more for the honest sellers. Also, it levels the playing field. Since the cheaters can charge less for shipping.

If I had the opportunity to speak with a congressman, and a truly candid discussion, eBay would not be my choice of topic.LOL

I'd ask them what's the deal with Louie Gohmert.

I would love to 'read this article'.....

I can say, ebay would not even be in the top 100 of subjects I would like to discuss.....
thanks

I wouldn't, because those people don't give a twit about people like us. If the people that run this place don't care, why would they?
Keep believing they are there to actually help you, and you keep this system going, and getting worse.

How many times can you tax one item. When you consider the person who made the item gets taxed a percentage when selling it new, or retail store. There is also sales tax to consider. After used it's donated then purchased once again at a goodwill or thrift store. Goodwill or thrift store pays taxes. Pay another sales tax as the buyer. Take that used item then sale it on ebay. Ebay pays taxes on their income. The seller pays their taxes and fees. "Does the Post Office pay taxes on shipping?" Charges? I don't know. Then if that item gets resold 3-4 other times in its lifetime. Like a used car. "How many times can you get taxed on that one item." Then if that item appreciates over time. Like a split window Corvette. Resale then pay again even more taxes. It now qualifies as an antique. "What would that Congress person have to say," but then again this is how that Congress person gets paid off of our tax dollars.

I did speak with one a number of years ago but eBay wasn't even on the radar at that time. This was the late 90s when more and more businesses were shutting down, shifting jobs elsewhere, reorganizing, etc. In the 5 states I was selling equipment in. We agreed it was a negative downward spiral and it needed to be stopped .... errrnt, never happened.

Uh...that's because items are not subject to sales tax, only transactions are subject to sales tax. That's most likely what that Congress person would have to say.

Drug manufacturers being forced into packaging a 31-day supply of any drug.
As recipients of Medicare, and I'm sure other insurances, we are entitled to get a 31-day supply (or a 90 day if approved) of any prescription drug. EXCEPT THAT most prescription drug manufacturers package drugs into a 30-day supply. So, we are SOL when the month has 31 days in it.
That's my rant and query for a congressperson.

That's interesting...never thought of that.

1. The ineptitude of government.
2. Term limits.
3. Government spending.

Well if it was about crossing moral , ethical and legal lines I would think there are a number of issues to be discussed before whatever I am upset at some website for. It's a business. Just how much morally superior would your business be?
What are these pressing issues specifically? You forgot to mention.
