I have done everything in my power I know to do, but Buyers STILL JUST WILL NOT READ OUR ADS or even bother looking at more than just the first picture. EBAY BLUES If you have any power or influence please bring this up to the website designers with like a HUGE POPUP or something that says WARNING please read ITEM DESCRIPTION in Ad in order to make sure that this is exactly what you need and fits your car, body, lawnmower, computer etc etc.
Or maybe possibly before a buyer can pay they MUST check a box that says they read the item description BEFORE they can advance to checkout. There has to be something done to protect sellers and inform our buyers so that they will not be dissappointed when they get a product that isn't what they wanted or needed because they failed to READ the Ad or look at all the pictures provided to them.

I guess they will read it.
I think the best first step might be for eBay to actually show buyers the description like they can on every other site rather than adding yet another click into another popup window to be able to see it.
But maybe that's just me.

But ... but ... but ... THAT would get in the way of the ADS,
(which is the whole point of the Mobile App to begin with).

One simple question: Do you have to do that on any other site?

Nope. But there's also no automatic free return shipping on most other websites either. The buyer has to exercise some effort in order to return something (be it paying the postage or taking it back to the B&M store like Macy's). And of course nearly all of those sites monitor buyers who abuse the system. Suffice it to say they don't go to the watering trough nearly as many times as here before they are told to go elsewhere and shop.
Oh and there isn't a financial penalty issued to the website either.
Most other sites meaning there are some that do have free return shipping (LL Bean for one). Buyer pays the postage there and here for buyer's remorse reasons.
And other sites have had abuses for many, many years, egregious abuses, and only then did return policies change somewhat, so with all due respect, I don't know that they are any stricter than it is here. For example, I worked for a very well known company once that sold a very popular watch. Buyers would return it when the battery expired for a new watch, and that went on for many years before the company changed its' policy. Amazon only recently moved to limit returns after many years~and that is only for their merchandise. Costco made the news last year when they accepted an old, dried up, Christmas tree on a return. Best Buy finally changed their policy after many bought a big screen tv for the Super Bowl, then returned it after. So the news has shown that returns have been a problem for many companies and they tread a fine line between accomodating buyers to retain them and deciding when it becomes disadvantageous to do so. They maintain the liberal return policies to generate buyer confidence and return sales.
There isn't a financial penalty to the website because they are the seller and it is their website. That's a big difference from Ebay and sellers.
So the grass isn't always greener elsewhere. There are return issues everywhere or companies would not be re evaluating their policies. I know the new policy penalizes you monetarily, and I am sorry. Unfortunately some categories and items are prone to returns.

Morning, Iart. I have started putting in the condition block "if you are using Mobile to purchase, please read the condition, description, and view pictures."

Something that might help....I've started using the following html code in my listings which forces the information you choose to show up in the mobile summary. This also causes said information to show up in list view search summaries on desktop browsers as well.
<!-- begin mobile summary -->
<div vocab="https://schema.org/" typeof="Product" style="display:none"><span property="description">
ENTER DESIRED INFORMATION HERE
</span></div>
<!-- end mobile summary --></font>

Right now I say READ AD in my title description and then I screen shot the description and put it in as the 2nd photo of the ad and even with all this the 1st buyer backed out of the purchase because he said he didn't see the AD or pictures AFTER I sent him a message before mailing the item. Had I not sent the double check mesage before mailing I would have been out $30 shipping both ways and most likely had a SNAD to boot.

I'm thinking it would be nice if ebay would actually REQUIRE SELLERS TO WRITE A DESCRIPTION. Seriously. Nowadays I see way too many listings with next to nothing in the description section. Or worse..... three word description and then several paragraphs of sellers terms and conditions. And then they complain about no sales and/or too many returns.

I absolutely agree. There's even a two word description, see pictures. That leads to another two words, back button.
It seems you can't mandate reading or writing.
