INR Buyer Made Unreasonable Request WITH CAPS!!!!!!

Need some help here.

Buyer contacted me October 24th to say that her item was not delivered.  Tracking shows delivered on September 29th. I emailed buyer the tracking (ebay uploads automatically anyway) and did confirm address sent to. Buyer emails me back to say this "I STILL HAVE NEVER RECEIVED THIS ITEM!!!!! I don't care if it shows it was delivered. I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED IT!! Please replace and have me sign for it when it comes. Thanks."

Signature for an 8 dollar item is not happening. Regardless, I am not inclined to send a replacement.  I ship with tracking so I don't have to go through events like this.

I have not written her back yet since she wrote me last night.

Any thoughts on how to respond back?

If she is telling the true or not, is not your problem if tracking says DELIVERED, you have done your job.

eBay and PP only sees that...what the tracking number says.

If she is lying, or someone stole the package from her box  is not important to you, the only problem is that red dot she will leave.

I would call eBay and let a represenative to make a note on this, she will leave a negative feedback and you will need to get with eBay for removal.

Theres no need to contact eBay. They don’t take notes of things like this. If a INR is filed, the OP uploads the tracking number and is covered by seller protection. They only need to call if the buyer leaves negative feedback before the case is won by the seller.

BBL.

Then tell them in order to do this by the numbers they need to open an INR case.

Once they do call and have it closed.

...ignore forever and go on about your business.

The seller is protected if the buyer files an INR chargeback because there is tracking that shows delivered.

I hope she has PP protection, but things have been changing.

Re: INR Buyer Made Unreasonable Request WITH CAPS!!!!!!

I have been dealing with a lot of people not doing their job in my non-ebay life...so I have spent an insane amount of time on the phone.  (still haven't started on dish yet).

Anyway, customer sends message.  Hasn't gotten the item but tracking shows as "delivered to a post office box".  He was asked me what that meant.   So I called his PO.  Very nice clerk answered the phone.  Since that delivery notice is used in-house, she would need to ask the person who keyed it in (who was off for two days) - since the package was not going to a PO box.  She had asked the carrier, who said "if I had it, I scanned it", and added that the buyer gets lots of packages.  "Thanks for the research" was the buyers response.  The next day, I get a phone call from the helpful PO clerk.  The package mysertiously appeared on the carrier's desk.  Her thoughts - it got sent to the wrong group (PO Box) who keyed it as accepted before putting it in a box.  When they couldn't do that, the find out which carrier and left it for him.  She assured me it was going out for delivery that day.

Buyer's response....silence.  Still waiting for him to at least tell me it arrived.

The seller protection on their site still states it offers protection against an INR chargeback if it shows delivered to the address in the order details   Nothing has changed in that policy.

As a seller I would not advise a buyer to open a claim knowing the buyer is going to lose.

I would consider this unethical.

Oh wow orangehound!  WOW!  I am calling you out!

What is up with the "customer service" attitude you have?

Why the heck are you being polite & helpful to buyers?

What is up with the Ethics you claim?

And then the fact that 9 people liked that post?  Huh?

I just don't know what to think, if everyone followed your advice, well good things might breakout! Problems might get solved. Buyers and sellers could have good experiences. People might start looking at others as humans too.

Jeez!

now let's see how many don't get the intended dry sarcastic humor, or quit reading after a line which offended them and thus reply angrily.  btw- I copied and saved your reply in blue as a reminder on what would be exemplary behavior.

I agree with the others . You did your part by shipping on time as well as provide  a tracking number . IMO once a seller does everything thats required  and the tracking number proves delivery ,, then its no longer the sellers responsilibity . If you wish  you can contact your buyer  and ask her to double check with her carrier .  E bay will back you up on this  should your buyer  file an INR .  Tulips

I've had that happen to me for a $10 item.  I was very polite in my response to the buyer because I assume they are upset because they really didn't get the item they paid for, and they are displacing their blame and anger on me because they didn't know any better.  I told them to please check with USPS, their neighbors, and other locations where the package might be.  I told them I would also check with my local post office.  I explained to them the USPS makes mistakes all the time.  I didn't hear back from them.  I assume they either found the package or decided to just let it go.  Perhaps my being polite about it helped if it was the latter case.

I once had a buyer claim she never got her package although the tracking proved it was delivered . It turned out her area had just had a bad storm and her package  was found  under a pile of wet leaves on her porch  a few days later . Tulips
