Yes, it is.  Keep all communications on eBay...if you text them back, they will have your number, if you email them back, they will have your email...

New accounts are prone to scammers and phishers because they are banking on your desperation and incompetence.

Only communicate within eBay unless you are a more experienced seller. Anyone who is asking you to communicate outside is likely a scammer.

Might consider putting the pricy items in your old store until the new store receives a lot of feedbacks, get some traction and does not look like a new seller owns it.

Not want you want to hear, but just a suggestion.

Wow that's wild, how scammers just flock to the new stores.

@allyourplantneeds

It is an unfortunate fact that new sellers or what appears to be a new seller are often targets of buyers that are less than honorable.

May I ask why you thought you needed to open another store instead of just selling under this ID?  It is OK to sell different items.  In fact it can help increase sales on the items you were selling before.  Buyers love variety.  And sometimes when you sell multiple types of stuff, they see something they forgot they needed or wanted and purchase that too.

So just curious, why the separate store?

This isn't limited to eBay and isn't really new. When I started up my closet on Poshmark I got all kinds of people wanting me to text them and wanting me to sell off site, etc. I was a little startled until another posher told me it was something new closets often had to go through. It's a real pain, though.
