who works at the Post Office. These prices are getting beyond ridiculous. They've got to be making stacks yet they always say they're broke. I don't want to hear them saying those lies ever again.

at their rates you might as well use couriers

So you're an expert in USPS's costs of doing business? Enlighten us: how much does it cost USPS to deliver a Priority Large Flat Rate Box weighing 8 pounds from zip 18504 to zip 85005? Please break it down by labor cost, fuel cost, amortization of capital equipment, management overhead cost, etc.

I may as well deliver things myself. I seriously about fainted when I saw how much it was on these last two packages.

"Amortization?" Hey, I don't need details. Yeah, he's got a buddy in the postal business. Must be nice to get around the system like that.

You claim they're "making stacks". Got anything tangible to prove that? Or would you rather to continue to make personal comments, which seems to be all you've got.

You have not seen nothing yet. They will probably have to do mid-year price hike because with all this talk about the evils of the fossil fuels gas prices are going through the roof. And did you hear that clown from the USPS suggesting that 1st class should be ground only?

There is no way around it. The cheapest way to ship is to print your labels at home. The Board of USPS Commissioners determines the prices. Check out other carriers. Heavy items and larger packages may be cheaper with UPS or Fedex, etc. Even if he has a "buddy" at the post office it won't get him cheaper prices. And he's right about the expenses. The PO has been losing money for 30+ years. The next time you are at a large post office or distribution center. Ask to see the carriers sorting their mail for delivery in the morning. The Millions of packages and mail each day are unsurmountable. "Resistance is futile. " Sorry.

The post office is being purposely sabotaged by the Postmaster General (Dejong), appointed by the last administration. He has ordered important machines to be destroyed, slowed down the mail and did it all at the beginning of the holiday rush. All this so Americans will support its privatization.
You want to see high prices? Wait till our post office is privatized.

Louis DeJoy (born c. 1957) is an American businessman serving as the 75th U.S. postmaster general. He was appointed in May 2020 by the Board of Governors of the United States Postal Service.
