Haven’t been name-called in quite awhile, by an online buyer at least 🙂. NOW it feels like the holidays, it’s like a yearly tradition.
Actually over a year ago I was called “cold, technical, and unapologetic by someone who received a “Arriving late” USPS update. But I’m not sure I consider than really name-calling. At least this recent one isn’t profane. Anyhow, I’m a pompous jerk everyone.
This buyer mistakenly bought a pullover hoodie instead of a zip up hoodie offered in the same listing (but higher price). She never admits to it and instead blames the seller (me) in messages. Cue sob story about it being a gift and ruining Christmas and demanding a replacement. My initial reply mentions she was correctly sent what was ordered, shows screenshots proving this, asks if she sees differently to definitely let me know, and she can return the item to get the one she wanted. I even offered a compromise to sell the zip-up at my cost to her so she doesn’t have to waste money on shipping back and forth (because I recently had a buyer who made a similar mistake and complain to me about this).
Surprisingly she then buys another hoodie from my other listing, and makes the same “mistake” again. I only knew this in hindsight and my packing guy already sent out the next day after purchase. This peeved her off even more. I double checked and asked if she saw my initial reply because she claimed I never tried to help them. So I basically sent the same info that was on my first reply.
This is where it gets interesting. Buyer doesn’t acknowledge my screenshots or resolutions and still claims my listings were to blame. I continue telling her to return for refund and encourage her to provide any screenshots that may show the “listing discrepancy” so I can bring it up with eBay. No screenshots or acknowledgment, just her saying there is no way she’s returning the hoodies because “they are Xmas gifts you pompous jerk” and she’s happy at the high quality of them. She continues lecturing me about customer service and how to treat every customer because each one is valuable. She ends by saying she hopes the way I treated her bites me in the butt in the future and ruins my business.
Fa La La La-la… la-la la laaaaaa.

" pompous jerk" Pure Gold!! You should put that on a T shirt to sell.
Block the buyer and move on.
Unfortunately having basic reading comprehension and computer literacy is not a requirement when buying on eBay. Come back if she bothers to leave negative feedback.

Word exchanges over the internet usually ends up like a case of beer muscles at the local tavern or on muscle beach. Always best to just move on nothing good will result.

This woman appears to be someone who is always trying to get free stuff
I hate these con artists they are the negative side of selling period
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones anyway

Some folks just want to look at their shoe shine all day rather than the sun shine. If it is raining just pretend your are a duck. They luv to flap their wings on the ponds and quack a lot. PMA is always much better than PMS (Pretty Mean Secretary) I say.
Reminds me of this1966 Herman's Hermits song - was old enough to walk into a bar scoping and single then.

I was told that "girls aren't supposed to sell bike parts." I just replied that alas, we all have scandal in our lives.
