I really did not expect to get a snarky answer here. Common sense would usually prevail. You assumed that I had not contacted my buyer. And I suppose you have never heard of people going manic and making purchases and then walking away. I guess my better phrasing would have been how long should I wait for a response and refund the money. You should work on your communication too.

You are assuming it was a "snarky" answer. BTW I wasn't the only one that said it, but OK if you want to single me out.
You did not say you contacted the buyer. Not sure how you expect any of us to know that if you don't tell us. And when you contacted the buyer, what was their response?
Common sense does NOT always prevail which is quite evident on many threads in this forum.
How did we get to some buyers possibly having mental issues???
OK, this is NOT snarky, but answering your question. "how long should I wait for a response and refund the money". Buyers aren't always checking their emails as often as sellers do. So IMHO you should give them about 48 hours. If no response, I would send them another email stating I was going to refund them and why. If they have any questions or concerns, contact me.
Just remember, assuming we know what you did or didn't do can result in the wrong advice. And we can't know what you did unless you tell us. Most of us won't assume we know what you did or didn't do.

you can through the message on the eBay site to contact the buyer.

Since you did not mention in your original message that you had contacted the buyer, it was logical for us to ask that question. I also responded in that fashion. There was no snark intended by either of us. When important information is lacking, wouldn't it make sense to ask that?

All you said in your original post was "I think he made a mistake. Should I just refund his money?"
Some have asked for more info, but you haven't given any details
Your only reply to this thread was "I really did not expect to get a snarky answer here. Common sense would usually prevail. You assumed that I had not contacted my buyer. Have you heard from the buyer? When was the sale made? What was the item? We can only make assumptions based on what you post, or don't post here.
Maybe best thing to do is contact Ebay directly. Please let us know the outcome, since I think we are all curious

Through ebay messages, contact the buyer. Thank them for their purchase. Ask them to please contact you to arrange a time for pickup.
