I let my buyers shop for 7 to 10 days & combine shipping & ebay sends them email to pay after 3 days

I like to let my buyers shop for a few days for the cominbed shipping and I have a few regulars that I'll let shop for a week to 10 days (I sell a lot of costume jewelry and shipping is expensive if not combined). But after a few days ebay starts sending them threatening emails telling the buyer to pay or they will cancel the sale. Is there any way that I can stop ebay from doing that? Or a way that I can let them know that I do that without spending an hour on the phone with them?  And if the buyer pays and then asks if they can shop some more and can I combine shipping when they are done shopping, then I get docked for late shipping on my assessment! I thought this was my account and my business that supplements my husbands income, so why is ebay sticking their nose into my business? Is anyone else having any problems like that?

I don't know if you can. They just implemented the new rule that if buyers don't pay within 4 days, the case is automatically closed and the buyer gets a  non paid strike against them.

Might want to tell your buyers to put your items in the cart and buy them all at once while requesting an invoice for combined shipping. If you have auctions though, I don't think that works. Ebay is changing a lot of things, not all for the good.

I think you can turn off the automatic unpaid item assistant, or whatever they call it now.

They might still send buyers an email, but they won't automatically cancel the orders.

Have a great day.

I am not certain, but I think you can set your preferences to disable the eBay "auto cancel" feature.  Let us know if this works.  I can no longer find the old "site preferences" place where information was all on one page.

Why would a buyer need to shop at your store for 7 to 10 days ? I would tell them sorry but you only get 3 days max. If they want more later, fine buy more later.

Hi, go to Account Settings > Selling > Selling Preferences. From there, you can edit your preferences for items awaiting payment from 4 days up to 30 days. If you only want to afford certain buyers additional time, you can exclude them from your default rule, which will allow them up to 30 days to pay.

Yes, I find these eBay messages annoying, both as a buyer and a seller.  I am a high volume, low cost seller with many repeat buyers.  A number of them have complained to me about these payment messages.  My favorite sellers are also high volume, low cost sellers who want their buyers to wait to pay to take advantage of combined orders.  I find the eBay messages to me to pay are a nuisance and a waste of my time.

@somanypostcards change your settings here (as illustrated by @popblox upthread) - this is actually set by you - eBay just has the default 4 days.   You can set it yourself for up to 30 days - then you can let your buyers to collect their items over a period of time and invoice all at once without buyers getting reminders.

OK, I had automatically cancel unpaid items turned off, which negated the default 4 days.  I've made the changes, so hopefully my buyers will no longer get the eBay messages to pay now or risk having the order cancelled.  No where does it say that this stops the eBay reminders...but one lives with hope 📪.
