Hello guys,
I currently explore the market and interested in creating something around Pest Repeller. The world is changing every minute and it might be useful while we all are staying at home and the temperature gets higher so "intruders" are going to influence your day. Something like that:
There could be "yes" or "no" answers only but I would appreciate full replies as it would help me a lot. So the question is, would you be interested in this and is there any point of selling it here on eBay?
Thank you in advance for your reply! Have a great week and take care!

You mean creating the product? Or selling the product?
Those things have been around for many years. I think I have one in the box at my cottage from 20-25 years ago.

Amazing timing for your item & question! Today in Michigan (& possibly other states) our governor made it a rule for stores to stop selling non essential items. She included on her list garden departments!! Any pest repellant item is found in that area. Now is when we start needing them. Personally we need seeds & bulbs, pots & mulch. Holy **bleep**. Really?? I would for sure go for it & bet you clean up like crazy. Good luck to you.

And it's "ORDOLESS" .............. 😀😀😀 .... and "NO TOXIC".

Count me as not interested.
It lacks credibility.

Thanks! You helped a lot. Yeah, the main point is to take into account the upcoming season (spring and summer) and current situation owing to the outbreak that could create some limits in shipping or selling in local stores. I will ask more people to receive some statistic but it's been helpful so far.

I'd be more concerned with the amount of returns on product for reasons "does not work" ...
personally have never believed in these types of pest control and would never purchase.

Exactly. All you will be doing is trading one pest for another.

It could sound weird but this thing really works 😄
Otherwise, I would never think about that. Who wants to start selling things knowing it doesn't work, receive some negative feedback after a while and eventually finish the business. That's not my way. Another question is people who might need this.

Have you ruled out a multi-level marketing plan as an alternative to ebay?

If all you plan to sell is this one product, then the answer is no, it will not sell, or sell very well anyway. Its not easy to get traffic and eyeballs on ebay. You really need to have a good assortment of whatever types of products you plan to sell.
Likewise, ebay plays favorites with the most established sellers here, giving them the bulk of visibility. Its really hard to rank if you don't have a lot of sales history. The more successful sales you get in a given category, the higher you will rank and the more ebay will recommend the products you sell to buyers.
As an example, I sell video games, but the larger more established sellers get spot #1 and most of the spots towards the top of the page. Although, there are other factors involved, including relevance to buyers searches and shopping habits.
If you did proper SEO, its possible to get better visibility based on use of proper keywords related to your products. But its still going to be tough to outrank those mega sellers.
While I don't rank as well as some of the other media sellers I compete against, I also realize those sellers earned their place here from years of hard work, they deserve their higher rank.

Kind of. I'm thinking about some marketplaces including eBay, and also I look through different forums and similar goods to understand how demanding it actually as (talk to people etc). But for now, I haven't figured it out yet.
Regarding marketing - that shouldn't be a problem if I understand that it is relevant nowadays.

Certainly a pest repeller would sell......... IF you can convince people that it will and IF you can explain how it works on what pests......... Remember some people think of pests as deer, others as flies, etc.
