I've asked CS about this a few times, gotten different responses from them but ultimately the same outcome... it can't be done.
So let's see what you guys say about it. I've had auto approve returns on for years. The settings pages since then have since changed many times to the point that I had forgotten where you even set this setting. I easily found it though by quickly exploring. I want to be able to send my own return shipping label if I choose to, or have ebay issue one for me. This sometimes helps in being more cost efficient.
Having auto-accept prohibits this as the ebay label is already generated when the return is accepted. So I turned it off here months ago (see screenshot).
You can see the status dot is grey so the current auto accept rule is turned off. But basically all of my returns are still auto-accepting. I've spoken to CS about this and some say there is another area to turn off my auto accept but they can't find out where. Other CS's say that some returns nowadays are automatically set to auto-accept (because they are SNAD), but currently over half of my auto-accepted returns are remorse. So I'm convinced all of the CS's I spoke with about this don't know what they are talking about.
Sometimes I even get the occasional return that mysteriously slips through the auto-accept rule and gives me what I want and the option to provide my own label or not. This was when I had auto-accept return rule enabled. CS isn't able to tell me why this happens, but it doesn't stop them from making false answers. Does this happen to anyone else?
Any help is appreciated. Can't seem to disable auto-approve. Thanks.

Check your return preferences here:
https://www.ebay.com/rtn/Return/SellerRules
Also at the very bottom of the page, turn on the RMA option, this will stop any immediate returns of any kind.

You have to enable RMAs - that checkbox at the bottom of your screenshot. That is the only way you can provide your own labels.
Returns may still be auto-approved, but the label won't be issued through eBay unless you choose that option or neglect to reply by the deadline.

Thanks guys I'll check it out. That actually was my next step and I just forgot about it. We'll see if it works. I'll bet I get a new return the minute after I enable that setting. Yay (sarcasm).
