I HAVE SEEN ENOUGH, THANK YOU AND GOOD BYE!

O.K., so this is IT. I am not going to list here anything else in the future - regardless of how many FREE listings eBay prefers to throw my way! Seriously considering not even relisting the ones already listed here, though I may give them some time to run out on their own.

I absolutely HAD it. Three times in a row - with weeks apart - a buyer claimed false reasons for returning an item, in order to get FREE shipping, by leaving me no chance to refuse the return shipping cost! eBay does NOTHING to protect the sellers against these kinds of atrocities. The buyer can open a case of return with literally ANY invented reason. eBay does not ask the buyer to provide a photo, or otherwise explain the reason, making it now even harder for sellers by extending the return times. JEWELRY HAS A 14 DAYS RETURN,  per eBay's own statement. My listings of jewelry have a 14 days return, also. Not 21, not 30. eBay nonchalantly announced to change this, for absolutely NO logical reason, because so many people being currently at home, the return time-frame could actually be shorter, but definitely not longer!

30 days gives buyer plenty of opportunity to have a change of heart and mind, and simply return the item claiming non-existent "Item not as described," or even worse, DAMAGE the item and then claim that it was damaged already when sent by the seller.

I describe my items correctly, and for the most part, provide 10-12 pictures for each. I accept returns with NO questions asked, but I am not going to pay for any more dishonest buyers to claim non-existent reasons for return. Strange to note, With hundreds upon hundreds of sales elsewhere: I did not have a SINGLE return on my other selling sites, for years! Not because I do not accept returns. My feedback on other sites is also 100% with NO returns, ever.

Add to the picture eBay's continued harassment for giving them all kinds of private information and being charged a tax of 12.5% on the tax portion of the sales come July - I am out.

You are losing MASSES of honest, experienced and knowledgeable sellers - many of whom are much higher volume sellers than my little business - because you provide the most horrible customer service to your sellers, eBay!

I think I have seen enough. Totally FURIOUS about people stealing my money that I work VERY hard to earn, and will no longer expose myself to this kind of abuse.

I regret that I have EVER returned to this site, to be truthful. The way you are treating your sellers is ABYSMAL. The only entity making money here is YOU eBay - and your preferred few.

Good luck to all sellers. Looks like some of you will need it...

PW

I understand that but she says she is not wanting to relist, or list anything new on Ebay anymore. Maybe she needs to cancel those listings instead of allowing Ebay to relist them for her.

I honestly don't think it is a big deal and certainly her business to do as she wishes.  But she has also said she will sell until it come time that she has to enter MP.  So she still has more than a month and a half.

I just wish ebay would hold off on managed payments to give sellers time to make a decision if they want to stay or go.
Yeah, I know we all knew managed payments were coming, but we didn't know the country was gonna get shut down right before then.
Going on 3 weeks that I asked an eBay employee questions about managed payments and nothing but crickets.

How much time is it that you think they should give?

Those of us that are going into MP in July got our first email in April.  There have been a couple emails since then with more info.  And this is something Ebay has told all of us is coming for about 3 years.

The Crickets thing is absolutely true.  I did some work in that area today.  If you have preregistered, then go to the Payment board just for MP and ask for permission to join the board.  They won't approve you unless you have pre-registered.  So do that first.  That does NOT put you into MP yet.  That isn't going to happen until July.

It only takes less than 60 seconds literally to do the pre-register process.  You will however need the routing and account number for the checking account you want to attach to MP.

i saw enough a couple of months ago, and yeah, i said goodbye and it stands firm: goodbye eBay.

Your thread is quite large and i've read through it over the last couple of days, as it seems to be sticking in the first loadups.

i think i read more disdaining eBay posts than embracing eBay posts.

I did note some posts basically saying eBay is too big to fail. You know, like in loss some sellers, more will sign up, in which i'd sadly surmise, is very very true.  But at some point in time the continuing dissatisfaction with eBay will cause irreversible damage. No business is too big to fail. And i doubt big brother will bail them out, but who knows, the politicians do chummy up with corporate weasels.

Best of luck to you

Well yes and no.  Not everything on this thread about MP is accurate.  Some is and some isn't.  Some is assumptions and some is simply fear of the unknown.  But Ebay doesn't help in this matter very much because they are so silent on anything to do with MP.  They just are not forthcoming in helping us to better understand.  They need to do a better job.

But with them trying to keep things close to the breast on this subject, it isn't likely that they are going to come to the Seller forum to answer questions.  They are likely to keep it on the MP Payment board.

I shouldn't have to pre-register for ANYTHING to get an answer.

They should give as much time until EVERYTHING is re-opened.  If I want to open a store now, I can't.

And I really want an ebay employee to answer me.  Are you one?

I am not saying that it is right or that I support it.  I simply gave you some information.  You can do with it as you wish.

I'll leave you be.  No worries, I won't try to help you again.

I'm not trying to be mean and I know your intentions are in the right place. I was genuinely asking if you were an employee with eBay. I saw a thread started by an ebay employee and he was responding to questions, so I saw an opportunity to ask the questions I have.
3 weeks and that ebay employee hasn't answered anything. To me, that silence speaks volumes and I find it disrespectful and it makes me feel like a sucker knowing how much money I've made for ebay in the almost 20 years I've been here.
Giving up my personal information on a site I've been on for years just to have questions answered that will either keep me here or make me leave is just ignorance at its finest.
I live in New Jersey. I have an ignorant Governor worried about his womens soccer team he owns before getting all businesses back up and running.
On top of the stress of ebay forcing everyone into something most people don't want, I have to worry about my parents.....a cancer survivor and someone that could get laid off, family and friends, people I know that ended up getting the virus, not being able to source items, anxiety from seeing people in masks everyday...........ebay absolutely sucks for doing this right NOW.

@mam98031

Yes, she can do as she pleases. I am just used to when people say they've had enough and goodbye usually that is when they walk out the door. She said she won't list anymore and let the rest run out on their own. GTC never runs out on their own so I guess it is just the way she worded the topic. She will have to let the items listed continue to roll over for another couple months then say goodbye.

It's a long thread.  I've been here since the beginning.  I think she has been pretty clear from the first page that she has multiple reasons for not liking it here anymore.  One of those reasons being MP.  And that she would be gone when it was time for her to enter that program.  So new listings now makes perfect sense.  She still has almost 2 months to move whatever stock she can here.

I just think you misunderstood or missed where she said MP was a factor in her decision.

"...You know, like in loss some sellers, more will sign up, in which i'd sadly surmise, is very very true. ..."

Yes, true - BUT sellers are nothing without buyers. Buyers are leaving in scores, tired of being the victim of scammers.

False location sellers, fake tracking sellers, empty box sellers, crabby sellers who are afraid of being scammed.

Sellers signing up are pretty much all selling the same imported stuff.  So, yes, there will always be new sellers, the same big box sellers will get bigger.

If you Google Ebay membership.   Active membership.  It doesn't support your statement.

I just experienced the same treatment - Ebay highway robbery of the seller. Seller purchased BCBg  8.5 boots and claimed that they are defective because she cannot squeee a foot in. Bcbg shoes are selling in the upscale stores(Bloomingdale, Nordstrom. Dillards, Macys, Belk and many boutiques) with no complains about sizing. She also claimed that the boots were listed many times and returned although she bought them as soon as I listed the for a first time on Ebay. I have several shoes US 8,5 listed and I sold a few without complaints about sizing.  Ebay does not bother too be fair to sellers. We have to pay the shipping although the buyer lied through her teeth.

Ebay can kick sellers in the mouth but at the end they will dig their own grave because we will be leaving if we are ripped off and not protected. We cannot charge restocking fees and Ebay instead being fair to the seller finds it easier to cater to the buyer. At the end, they need sellers to list the attractive merchandise which they already lacking. Being there.
