I find it to be insulting when asked to send an offer, When you are already the lowest price, & your competitors items are used & yours is New!, It is just Never Enough!

Not exactly sure why you find it insulting. Doesn't it show that someone is interested in your widget?
And you do know that you have choices: accept, decline, counter or totally ignore.
Some people, and maybe most people nowadays, will always try to get things at a lower price. That's just the way it is.

AI has no feelings. It is not trying to insult you.
There is an item for sale.
AI is not programed to care about price/condition comparisons.
AI sees the opportunity for an offer to be sent.
AI nOTIFIES yOU.

Yes it shows interest, But if they are interested, surely they checked the others, & found them to be used & at a higher price, They should be Happy to have found a brand new one at a lower price!, & yes I know I can accept, Decline or Ignore

What you say does make sense, However AI should be programmed to take Price & Condition into consideration.

If you're truly the lowest price and yours is new while others are used, are you sure you priced high enough? What have comps sold for recently? Curious to know which item this is about.
You were asked to send offers by eBay or by a shopper?
If it's by eBay you have control and can turn that off in your communication preferences.
If it's by a shopper, that's the nature of the beast. Anybody in sales needs to have a thick skin and not take things personally. It's not a personal attack.
I find it incredibly tiring and time wasting to deal with unsolicited offers, however I do not take them personally. If I was personally insulted by someone asking for a lower price I would quickly find a new line of work.

Why? What if I sell a New thingy for $20, others are $25 but I have NOT sold any in over a month...why NOT give me the idea to 'send an offer' for 10% off? Maybe I want to be reminded of that.
In YOUR way, I never would be.
It's ALWAYS better to be 'offered' or 'given a suggestion' that is OPTIONAL than not at all. ALWAYS!
Would you like some ground pepper on your salad?
Would you like Armorall on your tires?
Would you consider taking $90 for that $100 thing (Even if others are selling for $120?)?
12-03-2023 08:50 AM
Wouldn't that be expecting a bit much of something that is, after all, artificial?

Just laugh, say to yourself "Sorry, no, dude" and bang the delete button.
No sweat or anguish involved.

About 95% of my items are new and I start at 60-80% off retail price. I have best offer on all but one or two items. I would rather put $2 in my pocket than have it hang around for another year. Just my opinion.

That not its job - it's your job to decide how much you're willing to take and set your accept/decline there.
People are taking this AI business waaaay too far.

It has been both customers & ebay on several occasions & several different items, I actually did raise my price., How exactly do I turn that off in communication preference?
12-03-2023 09:21 AM
I got an offer from someone this week who wanted 60% of my item.
He just did "60% off?" Not a hello....was wondering or anything.
The only thing I responded to his offer is blocking him. LOL.

I get your point.

A Very Good reason not to use AI to make your listings!, With many items Condition plays a Huge part in pricing an item.
