How will you react to the following message below? Will you sell the item to this person? Will you block this person? Keep in mind that the watch that this person is talking about is $28.
"are you sure the (watch brand removed by me - poster) is 100'% authentic ? if so I'll take it but keep in mind I will be checking all of the numbers to confirm its authenticity as well as having my jeweler check it to. unfortunately there are a lot of fakes going around and I will be returning it and reporting the transaction if the watch isn't authentic. if things have been changed on it please just let me know , I may still purchase the watch anyway. thank you"
Thanks a lot for reading. Great afternoon/night!

Instant block from me. Even the slightest indication of flakiness is an instant block. The pool of ebay buyers is essentially infinite, no need to deal with the ones who let you know in advance that they are going to be difficult.

if you are bored answer him to see how his scam works. sometimes I talk to the scammers on face book when I am bored.

I'd probably answer the questions.........you sell a lot of watches, I presume you know what is authentic or altered.
"unfortunately there are a lot of fakes going around"
A valid and true statement.

I have had issues with people in the past, like this amazing person. I will answer their questions. Only to not hear from them again. If they buy, they will most likely return the item. Thanks a lot for your suggestion.

Presuming you are certain the item is authentic (if not you shouldn't be selling it), I would reassure him. OTOH, depending on the day & my mood, I may just block him. That's much ado over a $28 watch LOL. Who fakes $28 watches? He's going to pay more for a jeweler to check it out.

The brand of the watch, is a Timex. I know that is a real Timex, as I have sold a similar Timex before. Also, I change the batteries on them, which allows me to see the inside of the watch, as far as the machine use for this watch.

Block immediately

People aren't exactly faking Timex. Those are the slightly better cheaper watches I prefer from Walmart for sports/running. Good quality as cheap as they are, just not a watch I think anyone fakes

Yep. That's what I am thinking of doing. Its not worth my time or effort.

I am thinking to just block him. Out of experience, I have had the pleasure of dealing with such people. And just to make a sale. But at the end, I end up with a return.

I am with you on that.

It's a Timex? Yeah, I'd probably block.

This message sounds like a knowledgeable watch collector or dealer who has been burned by fakes and replacement parts in the past. But for that price your watch does not seem to be a collectible.
If you know yours is original, you might win a repeat customer. Or he might be an impossible-to-please PITA.
On eBay, any buyer can steal any item from any seller at any time by filing a fraudulent dispute. But if your buyer is planning to do that, I doubt he would send a message like this beforehand.

As an unrelated note -
This is what the condition "Pre-owned" in your watch lots says:
"An item that has been used previously. The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear, but is fully operational and functions as intended. "
Here is what your condition description says:
"NO RETURNS. NO RETURNS. NO RETURNS. SELLING FOR PARTS AS IS. Used. This Watches NEED Battery. Not Guarantee that they will work with a new battery. Need cleaning, New Bands or Other Parts. They are used and have scratches, signs of wear, have cracked faces.”

Thanks a lot for your input. I hear what you are saying. And I stand up for what I am selling. Keep in mind that I have Free Shipping both ways. The buyer can just buy, and if he decide to return it. Just return it. That simple.
But in this case, the message that he send me, is just sending me messages not to sell to him. In my mind, this buyer spells trouble.
