It's been years since I've had to do this. We have a big snowstorm rolling in on Sunday. I currently have a two day handling time set and have put the store in vaccation mode until Wednesday starting in the next hour just to be safe. I'm still allowing sales and have added a message to be sent explaining the situation. The one thing I forgot was that I sent offers. The big blue box at the top of vaccation mode setting remined me that they are not included in the vaccation mode. Which I think is stupid. That is something I think they should fix.
My question is do I have to edit all 907 listings in bulk? Or can I just uncheck Mon - Wed boxes in days I do business?
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks @fern*wood I guess I was just raised different. It just guts me when I see a seller come here to ask a question or ask for help and only be met with hostility. I see it too many times. Yes maybe we've answered that question before a million times, or yes, maybe they are doing things all wrong. If you know you can help the right thing to do is answer. If you can't then just scroll by and let someone else help. Most sellers are here for help or advice for a problem they can't figure out. Answering with negativity just makes it worse for that person. This is a community. A community builds itself up and takes care of one another. Like my mother and grandmother said....if you don't have anything good to say then don't say anything at all. Choose Kindness or scroll on. Good luck with this weather were about to get.

Never hurts to add some extra time in conditions like that.

@wirkaholic wrote:Thanks @wastingtime101 I didn't even think about the part of manual offers. I see what you are saying. I just took it as all offers. I don't have automatic offers turned on. I only use manual offers. I'm hoping that the manual offers are included in time away. I wouldn't use manual offers during time away. I'll be too busy shoveling snow to get out and keeping fuel in the generator. We always loose power in bad storms. My shop will be o.k. It's in town and had new lines and tranformers installed last storm. I'm prepairing for the worst. That usually works out where the storm passes us by. It only hits if I'm not prepaired..lol
I think you misunderstood. There's a difference between manually accepted offers from buyers and manually sent seller initiated offers.
When your listing has the make offer button, a buyer submits an offer, and you manually accept it - time away covers the handling time extension.
When your listing has the make offer button, a buyer submits an offer, and it's auto-accepted based on your settings on the listing - time away does not cover the handling time extension. Ridiculous, right?
When you send a seller initiated offer - does not matter if manual or automatic - time away does not cover the handling time extension.
When you send a counter offer, time away does not cover that, either.
Hope that helps @wirkaholic . Basically no offers are covered by time away except the very first scenario on the list.

Thanks for that clarification. I guess I'll just wait it out and hope for the best. Probably the first time I have ever wished a customer didn't take and offer...lol Lesson learned for next time. Forcast has been back and forth all day so I'll just hope for the best. Hopefully my two day handling time will cover anything that needs to go out. I don't mind breaking out the 4 wheel drive in snow but if there's ice it's all over. I don't own ice skates...lol

Well let's hope that the storm isn't too bad. But if the situation does get dire, remember that any active offer or counteroffer is immediately expired if the seller ends the listing.

I extended my handling time by a day, I have 2 days but went to 3, should be able to get out by Wednesday.
UPS is a bunch of scary cats, ALL the UPS stores in my county closed today because of the weather and I don't mean early, they didn't open at all, even a main hub down the road was closed. Locked gates and no trucks. I get it but its no suppose to start until midnight tonight so now I get to write a buyer and let them know their package won't go out until at least Tuesday. We're getting thunder sleet, ice and then 6-8" of snow, I'm rural so roads won't be drive-able until at least Tuesday if UPS is open.

You might not be an issue in the situation.
When I was stationed in Virginia with the occasional snow and slick conditions my capabilities were not an issue.
The issue was others that had no driving capabilities for such conditions when it made a surprise visit.

Thanks for pushing that point. It's an important way the seller can protect themself and it may have been missed in my original post.

@buyselljack2016
You made me laugh. I just moved to VA from S. FL. I KNOW I have no driving capabilities for what is coming up and am not planning to go ANYWHERE. Snow and ice is supposed to start tomorrow afternoon. The roads into this area are only large enough for a car and a half with deep ravines on one side, all hills, blind curves and I don't do well here on a sunny day with no rain yet! These roads will not be cleared so I am in for the duration! LOL.
I have orders to ship on Monday. I messaged my customers that I will take the parcels to the P.O. tomorrow (Sunday) and leave them in the drop box. If they don't get a scan here, they will be scanned in Richmond. All our mail goes there (75 miles away) even if it is for something across the street! Luckily I don't sell on eBay!
The nearest grocery store is 25 miles away, and I went there today. It was like a Hurricane was coming or something, all the people and empty shelves except for some odd reason there was still toilet paper and bottled spring water.

While the bad weather is in a certain part of the country many of us are enjoying the sun and warm weather.
Here in lies the problem....shipping from where the weather is perfect is not a problem...but shipping to where it is a problem can be a challenge....will buyers in this horrid weather get their packages on time?
And will sellers shipping to these places get many 'items not received' problems which they will have to deal with?
eBay should change shipping timelines in places to and from in such bad weather.
Although sellers in the bad weather are covered...sellers shipping to bad weather areas are not...and will have to deal with the headaches of items not received in a timely manner.
