I am very confused on how to sell 2 different items to one buyer. A buyer contacted me and asked for a discount if he bought 2 different items. He also asked for combined shipping. I agreed and told him what the discount would be. He put the items in his cart and then contacted me. I don't know how to get to his cart or how to do the discount and combined shipping. Under "shipping preferences" in my account, I have selected allow combined shipping. I don't know what to put for the other rules. Really need to know how to do this. I lost the sale because of it.

That makes me feel better that it's not just me having this issue. I felt bad asking the buyer to overpay and then receive a refund but since that seems to be the way to go I won't hesitate to do it again. Thanks for confirming!

Exactly as I see it too. I do have calculated shipping in most listings. Only a few are flat rate shipping. Why Ebay would think that multiple items would go in the same one box is asinine. Bottom line is that I am doing it correctly so thanks for the input.

A fix to this problem has been requested for years. I sell mostly clothing and would like a way for a buyer to select several items and request a discount of the items themselves, not just the shipping. I do not have a store and was told I cannot offer a multi purchase discount. Does anyone know a way where a buyer can make a bundle of items they want to buy and allow me (the seller) to give them a better price? I have manipulated the shipping to cover the reduction in the items but that does not always work. Also you should not have to tell a buyer that they cannot use their phone; they either do not believe you or will pass on your item because they do not want the hassle. Every time there is a survey, I ask this no matter what the survey is about.
