Hello, I had a buyer request a refund due to not receiving their package. It was a very small inexpensive item so I shipped it without tracking. I refunded the buyer but told them I thought they would still receive it, which they did. They want to reimburse me but will not give me their email address so I can send a Paypal invoice. I am not on Managed Payments yet. Is there another way to legitimately request payment?
Thank you for any assistance.

One way when you have a nice co-operating buyer is to create a special listing for them for the amount they are going to pay, they can buy it and you can just mark it shipped.
That way eBay gets the fees back they credited when the not received claim was settled.
Or
The first field in a Money Request if "buyer email or name" usually one would use the email address but you could try using the name, if you enter it exactly as it was for the payment PayPal should recognize it. I think (not 100% sure) that PayPal will only recognize a name that you have previously received a payment from.
Or
Check the original Payment email from PayPal, the buyers email address will be the reply to email address which depending on your settings will either be displayed or if not just click "reply" and it will show up (and it will NOT be the anonymized email address eBay provides.

If the buyer will not give you their email in order to send them a PP invoice, then your buyer does not want to actually pay you. There is no way to force a buyer to pay for an item which you refunded them for. Lesson learned for the importance of providing tracking. Luckily this was not an expensive item. Best of luck to you....

To add on to Jimmy........... personally, I like the make a new listing and send them a link......... It's straight up......they either buy it or not.
But you could also ebay email them with YOUR email address and tell them to use paypal to "send money" (give them the amount) to your account......be sure you spell out that it is for an item that was refunded for non receipt and then received.

Thank you for your response. The buyer actually reached out to me to tell me it had been delivered. I knew I was taking a risk not paying for tracking but was willing to take a gamble on such a small amount.
I read these boards for information and when I see your responses they are always well thought out and gentle. You sound like a kind soul. (And I do not intend this to sound creepy 🙂)

Thank you for your response. I was able to find her email address from the original Paypal email. Good to know that! She sent me a quote from eBay about not giving out personal info, etc
I think I will try the listing idea first.
Thank you again for your help.

Thank you for your response. I think I like the idea of a listing also. I am going to try that 🙂
