I recently had to move out of my house and downsize to an apartment. During which some of my items were placed in storage or donated because it was a quick move. I had 6 listings that I could not fill so I cancelled them and refunded the buyers money. 6 out of 206 transactions gave me a 2.91% defect rate. I have always taken care of buyers if they wanted a refund. But because the reason was out of stock they listed me as below standard. Will time and more sales be the only way to remedy this?

Increase your sales volume with positive, defect-free transactions to dilute the impact of the six cancellations. The defects from seller-initiated cancellations stay on your record for 12 months, but their impact on your percentage rate lessens as you complete more successful sales.

It also states that ebay will diminish your views in searches which to me would directly hinder me from making more sales in order to remove the status that they put on me. I wasn't even given a chance to explain why i had the cancellations. They all happened within weeks of each other and since then the sales that i have made have been good.

Reasons don't matter.........and don't excuse the violations..........

Next time you are planning a move, CLOSE YOUR STORE FIRST.
There is no way to "quickly" fix this. Actions have consequences.

"I have always taken care of buyers if they wanted a refund."
See, here's the thing. eBay expects you to take care of your buyers by sending them the item they bought.

I beg to differ.
I doesn't say that anywhere.

eBay can’t control directly whether an item is viewed or not. A potential buyer has to click on the item and open it up in order for it to count as a view.
A seller’s item might be viewed less because their items could be buried further down on the search results. Since many buyers change their search results to lowest price with shipping first. If I were the seller in this case, I would do some research on the pricing of all of their listings and lower the prices to make sure they have the absolute lowest prices on eBay. This way the seller’s I will appear on the top of the lowest price search. If the seller doesn’t want to spend the time researching then I would suggest a 50% off sale.
Having the lowest price will increase sales which will help dilute the cancelled items previously.

If I were you, I would lower prices on my listings so as to sell as many items as I can as fast as I can + offer pristine customer service.
