Just logged on to create listings and I get this ridiculous set of choices ... immediately did the survey asking how to opt out. I DON'T NEED THIS KIND OF HELP, what I need is access to the create a listing page where I can access my 40 plus Templates for most of what I do ...
All this does is add extra steps, a complete waste of programming time not to mention MY TIME.
This might be fine for a new member, like "Create a listing for Dummies" type thing ... my templates START with the info they are asking for ... really really stupid.
My Templates have ALL my prefered settings ...
NOT IMPRESSED
NOT HAPPY

I posted about this yesterday also and now it's fixed for me (yipee). Before it was fixed I was able to do a work around by using the "Create Listing" option that appears when you launch an item. This method gave me my templates back!
Is yours fixed yet? Someone posted on my thread that it was a known glitch that they were working on.

Yep, it changed for me. Templates and drafts now appear when I click the blue create listing button on the right side of the active listings page.

Pulling up a current or sold listing and using "Sell Similar" is our friend here, and simply modify where necessary. VERY easy with the new listing format. I have always used "Sell Similar" in the past, and things run smoothly. I do dread the day that eBay somehow blocks that route when I want to list something.

@stainlessenginecovers wrote:Curious; I don't know if I am using the 'new listings'- there have been some changes (ie. Pictures are first, Item Specifics of about 20 items are next; then the title etc.)- is this the 'new one'?
Also curious, if you have templates, can't you just click any one of your items, click 'sell similar' and then change as needed (that is how I've done it for years, up to again this morning with 2 listings)
Sell Similar can be hit or miss as it will carry forward all the settings for the item but in some cases they may not apply even though the item is similar. One would still have to "search" through their Active list to find something "similar" which costs time opposed to just clicking on Templates then scrolling to and clicking on the Template that applied.
Where member lose time is when eBay adds extra steps that involved clicking, typing, scrolling, etc. The new listing tool is a perfect example ... its several steps backwards from a programming standpoint, the screen shifts, jumps, data entry methods are different, picture editing and updating is slow (I've had more URL image errors with this tool and I NEVER HAD ANY with the last tool), pop-ups are an extra step, etc.
This step that this thread is about is just another layer of typing, clicking, etc. that is not necessary ... it may help a new seller who is clueless but for the vast majority of Sellers it is a huge waste of time ...

I hope everyone takes notice that in the first red panel on this page there is NO mention of UPC codes yet they suggest ISBN, MPN and VIN numbers ...
I don't think the UPC field is working right and suspect that's why they left it off the list. As to VIN numbers, seriously? That is an alphanumeric identification code discretely specific to ONE vehicle ... who searches using them let a lone know what they are for each car that was ever made?????

@mr_lincoln Mine is back to normal now.

@duffy4444 It was apparently one of those little test things eBay does ... it's gone from my account which saved me calling them to take it down.
The scary part is that it's obvious whoever did that is clueless on how I suspect most Sellers already sell ... each Seller has worked out what works for them AND the categories they sell in. The implication was that I didn't know how to get started creating a listing ... if they would have had a 4th panel with something like, "Already an experienced Seller? click here to go right to your Selling page" ...

@chapeau-noir Yep, mine too ... just another eBay survey to see if we're paying attention ...

Although my items are almost all in the same category (ebay not my store) but I click on anything that fits an IMPALA, then change the title, the description (where needed), the price, the shipping manor (now heavier, so ships Priority vs 1st Class...as well as the shipping cost)- UNclick the toggle for 'Global Shipping' as items over $100 I don't do outside US period, and then change the pictures.
Still the same 'layout' and the 'vehicle fitment guide' would remain the same.
