How to list book condition on Ebay?

I like getting my books from Amazon and when I'm done reading them, I want to resell on Ebay. If I'm meticulous with the book/pages and it appears brand new, can I list it as new or used?

Thanks!

The different descriptions of each condition are listed when you select each one when you're creating the listing.  Pick whichever fits best.

Unfortunately, appearing new is not new, it is used and may be in very good condition.

Best,

The books become used and "second hand" the moment you purchase them.

You have used it.

It is used.

Period.

In the Book Category you have lots of options for condition not just new or used. Pick the one that best fits your book.

Re: How to list book condition on Ebay?

Be careful selling books. Not as much fun as it might appear. If you're getting recent releases their resale value might be very low when used. Check out the prices on ebay. There are a few sellers who dominate the market (not us) and they can sell books for a few bucks. We try to get a minimum of $14 (including shipping) for an item. Inching it up to about $16. This amount pays our fees and provides a little better than minimum wage for our time. Else, what's the point?

Good luck!

Re: How to list book condition on Ebay?

Most people can tell the difference between a new book and one that has been read, even just once.  There is an option to list the book a "like new" but I prefer to use very good and always go slightly lower on a condition grade.  Better the buyer gets a pleasant surprise than be disappointed.   Same goes for selling LPs.  So I would list as VG+ in the description and note that you read the book once.  And as another noted, most used books are scarcely worth the time listing.

New resale or never-read new books are still 'new' condition.

If one is really meticulous in reading 'like new' is a possible condition, but I would err on the side of caution and simply have 'very good'.  I can tell if a book has been read almost right away, but I'm a book collector and dealt in books for a long time.
