How to get report to file sales tax?

Hi,

As year 2018 has ended and I need to file my annual sales tax for the sales made to my state, which I have been collecting on eBay.

Where do I get this information on eBay?

What I am looking for is; total sales, Sales tax collected for the year 2018.

eBay does not have a file that does this.  If you are doing quarterly, I can help.  eBay gives us a 90 day look back.

First you will need to know all the zip codes for your state.  You can google this and they should be all in a row.  Now follow these directions.

• from your sold items page change the duration to 90 days
• now use the zip code section and sort (click the header name)  from lowest to highest
• Now use the check box for all transactions in your states zip codes
• next use the archive folder and move the checked transactions into the archived folder
• when you are done go to the archived folder and I would probably sort them by date.
• now you can use the print option and print out a report with all your in state transaction.  The report will give you a total at the end, but it will not tally sales tax collected. 
• You can use the total and do the simply math from there. 

I am not sure what state you are located in but most states require you to submit state sales tax quarterly not annually, but your state might be different?  If you need all of 2018 transactions you can look at paypal for a simlar report that might have the info you need.

I would advice you to do this info collecting monthly not annually.

Due to my low volume, my state only requires me to submit once a year.  I don't know of any report so I print them out as I go and total them myself.

I collect all payments through PayPal, so that is where I go for reports to use in preparing my income tax and sales tax reports. PayPal has a separate column for tax collected.  Some tell me you need a PayPal business account to display the tax column.
