How to do research without getting an offer from seller.

I find it frustrating when researching for an item I want to list and then almost immediately receive an offer from the seller.  How can you avoid that?  Or is it not possible?

What exactly is the problem with receiving an offer?

I can't be certain about this, but I believe if you save the items to a customized list, as opposed to the general Watch List, you may not receive those offers.

Use Terapeak research tool, it's really useful tool:

There are many ways to deal with it @cva1932 including but not limited to:

- Use a different browser that's not logged in to your eBay ID
- Use private browsing mode not logged in to your eBay ID
- Go to your account settings and under the buying section turn off notices for offers

Re: How to do research without getting an offer from seller.

I like receiving the offers, but most of the time, I miss them simply because I don't check ebay messages as often as I should.  Then, I feel bad because the seller has taken the effort to make that offer and they figure they just got blown off.  I don't want the sellers to become discouraged because of  this.

When researching an item that you plan to sell, having offers sent can help determine what others are willing to negotiate on said item.

Why would you spend so much time on something that doesn't matter at all? Who cares if you get an offer... Move on about your day and continue doing more important things.

None...Unless your selling the same thing!

Wouldn't that give you an advantage to know what others are willing to offer on the item?

Look at items when you are not signed into your account on a different browser.

You do know that you can simply ignore those offers, right?
