How to deal with this tricky situation: fund was frozen, if refund buyer-it has to be my own pocket

So here is the tricky thing that I just experienced, eBay restricted my account as soon as the payout was initiated, apparently I can't get my fund, given the fact that i had spent $300 on shipping fees from my own cc. I had uploaded all the documents that ebay requested, but it's still like dead water, my account is still restricted.

Then a buyer opened a case saying the item not received. Now i want to refund the buyer, becoz I no longer want to deal with this situation, do you believe that ebay has created more stress and anxieties than what i had experienced all my life so far? The issue is that, if I refund the buyer, ebay will withdraw the money from my own debt card, but i never received the fund that the buyer sent. So this is a game of losing money. And as I mentioned, ebay has frozen the fund and restricted my account, so the fund was locked firmly. What should I do? Thanks guys.

If the restriction on your account is not lifted, then (if your profile location is correct in saying you're in the US), those funds will be eventually turned over to your state's unclaimed funds, and you'll be able to claim them from there.  That may take 6 months or longer.  Until then, yes, you're on the hook for any refunds.

Unless we know why you're restricted, we can't be of much help in that part, but you're selling a lot of items as New in categories where stolen merchandise is a big issue, so that's probably a lot of it.

When you have a refund to issue, the money comes from your backup source. (The held funds aren't enough to cover the full refund, thus they go to the backup.)

Once the refund is issued and the hold time has expired, they WILL release the funds.

But you do need to process the refund if you want to continue to have an ebay account.

Thanks for your quick response! Ebay told me that they restricted my account becoz I am a return seller. These are all my personal belongings, as I am moving across the states, that's why I am trying to get rid of these things. I have uploaded the receipts as proof of ownership. So there should be no suspension.

I mean, guys, can't you see the big logic here on the market, which is very wrong: you had to pay for the shipping fees in advance, work as a free labor, then taking all the risks of unknown uncertainty to claim the funds that belong to you at the initial point and no mention the tax form, shipping fees are taxed as well. What's point?? Getting bored?

@sisleya21

Sorry for your situation.  As other's have pointed out on this thread, stolen merchandise is a big problem on this platform and the law is leaning on eBay hard to clean it up.  Certainly not saying this is your issue, but this is the way it is and eBay is just covering their culos.  This is an alternative route you can take perhaps to get some answers & closure:

These agents are US CS eBay employees and may better serve you and your situation.  Many positive posts with their ability to be helpful.  In the past they were helpful concerning my issue at hand.  Give it a try...it might be worth it.

Good luck to you!

Thank you for your time and input, appreciate that!

But as I mentioned, I already paid $280 for shipping and shipped out my valuable items while got nothing back, it's like begging ppl to take away my belongings and pay for them, as a matter of fact which I already did.

Does tracking for the item show that it was delivered?

@sisleya21

I do my shipping using funds from the buyer payments. Was that not an option for you?

You can use your pending funds for shipping,just scroll down the payment page and you will see the link. All infrequent or returning sellers have their funds held. Ebay has a thirty day MBG, and with no recent selling history, they prefer that any refunds come out of your pocket, not theirs.

Thank you Ami, you're a soother, I like the way you communicate with ppl, it's very healing. ^_^

The available funds are -negative... Ideologically, I feel ebay is such a socialist community, becoz the sellers have to be willing to devote anything, time, money, without expecting any instant returns.  Next time when moving, I'd rather donate the items, at least I don't have to pay for shipping and take the pressures...

Nope, ebay restricted my account, and they stopped even the payout initiated before the restriction; rather, they send me notifications on a daily basis, saying in a regretful tone, sorry your bank rejected the payout, we will send again... it's becoz of the restriction, not the bank.
