How to deal with this return request?

Buyer is requesting an item for being defective and not functional. My description of the item clearly states that it is not working / for parts. Buyer also attached an image of my actual description of the ebay purchase on the request claim. The image the buyer attached is contradicting to what the actual return request of the buyer. Also the return request was issued 1 day before it being 30 days since of purchase which is fishy to me. Is there any way I can contact Ebay support?

Don't worry about this comment. Its obvious they don't have experience dealing with chargebacks since they always cave and accept returns. I get several annually. You might lose a decision off a chargeback but as long as you followed ebay protocol for proper tracking and did what's expected of you by ebay you will be covered. I cannot recall losing a chargeback where I lost money. If they do file a chargeback and if you do lose, contact ebay. Point out that you used proper tracking, etc, and they should refund you. This is all from personal experience.

Chargebacks for NAD are always going to be in the buyer's favor. There's no "protocol" for that.

Chargebacks for unauthorized or not recognized will be covered by ebay if you followed protocol.

Chargebacks for INR will be covered by ebay if you have tracking showing delivery and if required, s.c. for $750+.m

Re: How to deal with this return request?

Courtesy Refund does not also equal the claim being closed in the seller's favor.  Those are two completely separate actions.  You can do one without the other.

Besides, if a claim is closed in the seller's favor, NO courtesy refund would be involved.  The hold would just be taken off the seller's money and the seller is allowed to keep their funds.

Re: How to deal with this return request?

No worries I see all the angles to this now with everyone's input. The Buyer recently messaged me saying I didn't disclose the condition of a certain item (camera lens with fungus) but my description of the item is listed as "for parts or not working". I didnt bother replying but thinking of replying to explain my view of things. Thanks for sharing your experience.
