Buyer is requesting an item for being defective and not functional. My description of the item clearly states that it is not working / for parts. Buyer also attached an image of my actual description of the ebay purchase on the request claim. The image the buyer attached is contradicting to what the actual return request of the buyer. Also the return request was issued 1 day before it being 30 days since of purchase which is fishy to me. Is there any way I can contact Ebay support?

@extratoast3d wrote:Yes eBay has officially closed the case and issued a no refund to the Buyer. They stated "We determined that the item is as described."
Now you wait for the charge back, where Ebay will have no say and you might not be so lucky.

Has this ever happen to you before? As far as Ebay closing a case and then later getting a charge back like u said?

Ebay doesn't have a say in the charge back...it is all about the bank and their customer

Ill see in the coming days. Im new to selling in this platform, so I appreciate everyone telling me to just return/refund the buyer. Just went with my gut and went with this route to solve the problem

You might also be receiving your first negative feedback, just so you are aware. And all over $40?

An item that is listed as not working / for parts can still be "not as described".
Also the return request was issued 1 day before it being 30 days since of purchase which is fishy to me.
The buyer filed the dispute within eBay's timeframe, so it will not seem fishy at all to eBay.
Is there any way I can contact Ebay support?
Yes there is, but customer support will not help you avoid the dispute or help you win it.
How to deal with this return request?
Accept the dispute, and indicate whether you want to pay to have it shipped back to you.

Are you sure ebay closed the case in your favor and that they didn't close it with a refund going to the buyer?

Just because they may leave a negative feedback doesn't mean it can't be removed. It is going to depend on what they say and why Ebay ruled in your favor on the claim.

Yes, they sometimes do this with a courtesy refund. It seems in these cases where the buyer really doesn't have much of a case, but for some unknown reason they want to keep them around. If this is the case, the OP has nothing to worry about.
Still, I'm sorry this happened, @extratoast3d - you've got a great attitude dealing with this!

'If you are not happy, return for a full refund.'
For us, there is no other reasonable choice.

When I get a bogus return claim I immediately file action against the buyer as they demanded something that was not listed. This seems to put the automatic refund on hold until a person at eBay reviews. We've been successful about 60% of the time.

No, I always accept returns before it goes that far.

But the OP says that they closed the case and "issued the buyer no refund."
That's why I questioned the post. (In fact, I had a case in which my buyer did get a courtesy refund for an INR claim with tracking showing delivery. I kept the money and ebay refunded the buyer.)
But this isn't one of those cases.

Don't worry about this comment. Its obvious they don't have experience dealing with chargebacks since they always cave and accept returns. I get several annually. You might lose a decision off a chargeback but as long as you followed ebay protocol for proper tracking and did what's expected of you by ebay you will be covered. I cannot recall losing a chargeback where I lost money. If they do file a chargeback and if you do lose, contact ebay. Point out that you used proper tracking, etc, and they should refund you. This is all from personal experience.
