I received a message from a previous buyer stating “Hello, the watch works very well but I only used it once and the bracelet broke, unbelievably unfortunately it was already damaged.”. He received the watch in early October so its been well over a month and a half. How should I respond? I know when shipped the bracelet was fine. The bracelet is a latex or rubber material so it very possible he just damaged it from wear.

Kindly let the customer know he is well beyond ebay's 30 day money back guarantee.
Have him contact ebay directly if he has any questions.
Good luck and stay safe!

Yes, guide him to eBay. Hopefully, he doesn’t realize PayPal allows 180 days to file a claim.

The eBay reps will tell him that. They often tell buyers to file claims through PayPal if there's some reason they're not covered under the MBG.

If you've included the entire message... it needs no response. The buyer hasn't asked a question.

Yes, but PP makes you pay to ship it back!

It was the g-shock, wasnt it? They are notorious for band breakage. IIRC rubber has some degree of organic components in it and they break down over time. Also anything wet but especially perspiration really aids in the breakdown of rubbers. Synthetic bands are more comfortable but break down even faster. So time will eventually claim a rubber band no matter what.
If it were me, i would accept the return, taking what the buyer said at face value. It is quite possible the band broke given it is a pre-owned item. Unless it is yours, there is no way to know the extent of wear and like i said, they break down.
You know, you would attract more buyers if you beefed up your titles. Just food for thought.

Politely tell the buyer that the eBay Money Back Guarantee only runs for 30 days from delivery. Do not suggest anything further for him to do.
He's an adult and can do his own research.
If he goes to Paypal he can open a Dispute, but he will have to return the watch at his own expense. You don't have to tell him that either.
If you know where he can buy a new wristband, it would be nice of you to guide him to that site.
