I just realized that all the time I thought I was putting my items on sale I was actually creating an order discount that doesn't show until you add to cart. UGH.
Now I realize I need to create a sale event in order for the sale price to show in my listing, but when I create one and create an "inclusion rule: Whole store (All inventory)" it will not add any of my listings.
So I created a sale in the old markdown manager, but of course I can only 250 listings to it.
How do I use the new promotions tool to create a sale where each item shows a discounted price in search?

This looks like a very comprehensive thread on how to use Product Manager.

If it's the strikethrough pricing you want in search results (like MM did), the new markdown manager replacement is the new sale event + markdown in the promotions manager tool
Go to the “Sale event + markdown” selection option in the Seller Hub -> “Marketing” tab -> “Promotions” -> “Create a promotion” (right hand side blue drop-down box "Sale event + markdown” (new selectable option). You can try this link: https://www.ebay.com/sh/mkt/promotionmanager/dashboard
We just got this about a week ago, some users have had available for longer.
Per this ebay news post, the item limit is 500 items with the new tool: https://www.ebay.com/sh/mkt/promotionmanager/news#markdownManager
I am having problems editing the promotion after it goes live in order to add items. If you also experience this glitch, I'd appreciate it if you could confirm in this technical issues thread here: https://community.ebay.com/t5/Technical-Issues/BUG-SELLER-HUB-NEW-SALE-EVENT-MARKDOWN-Markdown-Manag...
Otherwise, good luck and I hope this was helpful!

This is just another example of the epic incompetence of ebay developers. Again and again they prove they have no idea what they are doing. I'm not sure if it is due to inexperience, no experience or just downright stupidity? They seem not to understand basic fundementals of the retail industry. Why in the world would any marketplace retailer on the planet hide their sale price until checkout? The whole point of the sale price being shown is to highlight the reduction and make your items more visible. This inept format also forces customers to do math which is one of biggest mistakes an online retailer can make. You want to get customers through checkout as easy and quick as possible, unless you are ebay. It's as if the people ebay hires as developers are required to have not only never worked in a retail environment, they are also required to lack any semblence of common sense. I seriously wonder if there is a machine at ebay that zaps employees brains of any thought and logic the minute they walk into their San Jose isolation sanctuary?

They took what were 2 good sale features and totally ruined them.

"If it sold FAST, it was priced too low" - also Reese Palley
