How to cancel an order after declining request

Had a buyer who couldn't make up their mind. Ordered item, immediately requested to cancel, then sent a message asking me not to cancel it. So I declined the request but didn't ship yet because I don't ship on weekends. Later got another message saying they want it cancelled after all. Will I get a defect if I just use send refund and give a full refund that way? Since there is no longer an option to cancel after declining the request to cancel.

When you just go ahead and refunds, it gives you reasons why. I would select other adjustment if your reason is not on the list. You will be stuck paying fees for that sale because it's not cancelled properly. Keep an eye out for defects and call and have CSR review the messages from the buyer if you happen to get one for refunding. I've never gotten a defect from using "other adjustment" however my "other adjustments" are the buyer saying "you sent me an offer for $7 and I clicked buy it now and paid $10". I have never used this for a full refund.

Try using this button on this page.

Make sure you chose (Buyer Requested) for reason.

Cancel using problem with buyers address. There is a problematic buyer at that address and that IS a problem.

OP said the option to cancel is no longer available now that they've declined the buyer's request to cancel.

Why lie? Buyer requested and that's an option.

Probably just have to send the item as it has been paid for, and hope for the best.

If the buyer paid you will need to ship as ebay will not let you cancel at this point.

Re: How to cancel an order after declining request

The system will not allow more than one cancellation request per transaction @rebby-clothes. You can tell the buyer to open a return request with the reason "changed mind" then when the return request comes through you can refund without requiring a return - because you haven't shipped so there's no product to return. Your fees will be credited.
