Hi9 im selling quite a lot on ebay but still havent figured out how to avoid my time being waste by scammers. I list most of my stuff as auctions for 5 days (saving me time and i know when it ends) dont have the buy it now price cause dont want it. I ve got every buyer filter under the sun but still some scammers winning my auctions (at least 5 of them a month). then once they won i get the email from ebay about suspicious buyer, auction dissapears and i cannot relist even when ebay suggests its easy to do so .. what to do how to protect myself ? wasting so much time here

How much FB did you have in November of '07 when you first signed up?
And do you have written permission from that major retailer to use their logo as your avatar?

eBay isn't going to allow you to not sell to 0 feedback bidders if they can help it. They count on new customers for their financial success. They want 0 feedback buyers with the hopes that they will eventually become 10, 50, 100 feedback (or at least transaction) buyers.
You can cancel their bids but eBay isn't going to look too favorably on that, though to be honest I don't know if there is a punishment for too many bid cancelations or not. But you could run into problems with that too. I had bids canceled when I had 0 feedback and it **bleep** me off so bad. I wouldn't do this but I could see someone using someone else's ID to buy something and then leaving a negative. I was really steaming when it happened, but I did get over it. Some people might not.

I have a discalimer on my listings and cancel bids quite often most of them are scammers some of the people just dont read listings and are genuine buyers and rest just dont care about cancellations.
Just dont understand why ebay allow scammers to bid on your autcions and then send you an email about their suspicious activitity when its too late. its sellers who needs more protection these days its us who pays the fees

Your 'disclaimer' about 5 FB is a listing violation that can get your listings pulled.
Cancellations for improper reasons can get your account sanctioned.

Thank you. I was wondering about that. Just wondering is that something the bidder has to report or will eBay take notice on their own?
To the OP, they might not realize when the person bid that they had suspicious activity. They might have had other auctions end in the meantime that rang the warning bell to eBay. I think you are wrong about people not caring about having their bids canceled. They might never come back to eBay, thinking "what's the point". I mean really, what if no one sold to new buyers? Like literally no one. We would have no customers. I assume you are in a high scam category with 5 a month, I have never had a single one. I think it's part of doing business in a risky category. About a month ago you wouldn't have sold to me, I only had 4 feedback. I don't think you realize how many people you could really be chasing off.

How is ebay to know someone is a scammer until they do something suspicious, and they can only warn you after the suspicious activity occurs. And yes sometimes it is too late, wich is why I have extended my handling time, giving me a bit more time in case they do send me a warning.

The Auctions just attract bidders.........some of who find it a game to bid, but never intend to pay.
Only way to truly avoid them is f/p listing with immediate payment...... which I'm sure you know and don't want to use.......but that's the only real solution.......

You can put whatever in there you want, but that does not mean a bidder with 4 feedback cannot bid on your listing or even win it last minute.
And if you do not sell to him or cancel for a non valid reason, then you will get a defect. After a couple it will be all over.

anyone can bid i decide which bids im cancelling if someone with 4 feedbacks or 3 or 2 or 1 bids without contacting me clearly doesnt read the item description which points me in the right direction just wish ther would be a better tool or better protection on ebay
