How people make invisible listings?

Hello!

I see people have auctions that you can purchase but when you enter their username and try to check what they have listed there is nothing there ;/

How people make it that their auctions are buyable but when you enter their username listings it shows 0 listings?

P.S. I can buy that guy listing and it goes to checkout normally and asks for payment

Re: How people make invisible listings?

@thefinestchoiceyouhavemade, the listings are "invisible" because the eBay website is having technical problems and not working properly.  You might message the seller and let him/her know so he/she can follow up with eBay to report the problem.

Re: How people make invisible listings?

There are so many glitches right now that I probably would not assume right off the bat that it is 'invisible' or not legitimate. I know it is a bother, but you could always call Ebay to verify the seller exists if you are really wanting to purchase from them. Otherwise, maybe give it a little time to see if it is just a glitch and clears up. I have seen in several forums threads some sellers reporting complaints from (prospective) buyers concerning viewing/purchasing.

This listing is visible on ebay and people are buying it but this person listings are never visible in his account when you click his user name "items for sale". He has 235 comments so I do not assume it is a glitch. So how does one make that? What trick is there? Or you don't want tell me 😞

His listing always visible on ebay but never under his "items for sale" when you click his user name. So how does one make that work? What trick is that?

Re: How people make invisible listings?

I THINK it's his shipping set up..............  he's delivering digitally I believe, but has fake shipping set up......note the "none"

Free shipping
Poland
None (Royal Mail International Standard)

Free shipping
United States
None (Royal Mail International Standard)

Free shipping
Canada
None (Royal Mail International Standard)

Thing is, I can't find it at all in a word search.......and I don't know how people are finding it.

There is a simple explanation for this, and it is not a "glitch"

It simply requires a bit of investigation to determine that this is expected behavior

The item location is Canada

When searching his items for sale, most USA buyers have set their default to USA only.

If you change the "See Other Items" search to Worldwide, you will see his Canadian items.

Logic can sometimes dispel the "glitch" myths.

Re: How people make invisible listings?

I just went through the advanced search trying to find one of y own listings that just rolled off.  I not only had to imput the item number ( which returned nothing), I redid the search filling out all of the options on the page, sold, bin, ect and only then did ebay show me what I was looking for.

For the past 10 years or so, ebay has been trying to make contact between buyers and sellers nonexistant.  ebay is paranoid about losing out on a fvf so their solution is to keep users from communicating except through a transaction and driving them both to look off ebay for what they want/need.  Add in ebay's desire to be known as ebay the way Amazon is Amazon and not a venue and ebay is becoming a huge mes that can not be navigated by the users it is supposed to be serving.

Lucky, I have mine on default........which, now that I think about it would be only items listed on . com..........but you are correct that when worldwide or North America is selected, the items do show under see other items........

So it means 90% of the possible buyers don't see my items? Cool. Great to know ...

You're in Poland..........I imagine that most European countries may use "worldwide" or their default may be different than the US.......  If you want to get into US.......without us chosing worldwide, you would have to list ON .com......

Re: How people make invisible listings?

Hey, european version don't have half of the options you do sadly 😜 I can't choose item location filter because it doe snot exist on my ebay version. As for listing items it works though I'm sure many buyers will have problems finding the item as I have that problem.
