How long before a return request "times out"?

So the buyer opened a request 3/12, does it close today the 4/12?

Does it close automatically or I do I have to call in? Never had this happen before, but it makes me nervous having it sitting there where a CSR can escalate and close it in buyer's favour.

I think it's 32 days.

But you may want to call to get it closed.

I agree I would call
My last one that lingered like this I finally called on .
They sent an email that I  escalated/opened  the case  but then a follow up that it was closed in my favor.

I hate to just have something sitting for what feels like forever & not knowing

It's complicated by the fact I never accepted the return but sent a replacement (which the buyer was happy with).

Just keep in mind that the length of time is 30 days, not one month. I have to calculate this kind of thing in my work to determine whether regulatory filings are on time. Here's what I use. Remember to note whether you want to include "today," as that adds one day to the total; for example, it calculated that there are 31 days between March 12 and April 12, 2018. If you want to count today, it's 32 (as the previous poster said). So today is the 32nd day.

Just trying to decide if I'm up to talking to an ESL CSR today (who'll probably turn around & escalate the case & refund the buyer)

The buyer did not send the item back, they should not refund the buyer.  Personally I would keep quiet and not call anyone, let it time out on its own no matter how long it takes.

I thought that it was 30 business days. I usually do wait for it to time out and it has always seemed longer than than 30 or 32 days. If it is business days, that would explain why it hasn't yet closed for the op.
