Just wondering about how large a sales increase have you seen since you now have all these item specifics to fill in.

Well I can tell you with just postcards and the nonsensicle specifics debacle that went on with that category, sales have plummeted for me. Used to sell at least a dozen a week, now I'm lucky to sell half that.
Postcards is a category of things people browse, and you can't browse without the sub categories. Unless something changes, I'm done buying more postcards to sell. They don't move fast enough anymore because of the lack of sales/views.

All I know is this. My sales are up quite a bit since I went thru and completed my item specifics. I don't know if they are related? I would assume so.
I do know this, since updating my item specifics on the thousands of items I have my external sight views have hit the moon lately. External sight views are from buyers searching on Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo and others. One of the reasons why eBay introduced item specifics was to make it easier for buyers to optimize external SEO. More and more buyers are looking for stuff on external search engines these days.

Nothing.
The hidden selling limit trumps all methods of increasing sales.

Perhaps those numbers eBay tells you are correct. Or maybe they are made up. I've seen for myself, that my numbers are made up. I've seen thousands of views drop off of a particular day, two days later. I don't really pay much mind to traffic anymore because of this. What's important is sales. If my traffic increases 100% but my sales don't, traffic means nothing.
And just because someone sees your listing on search engines, what is that supposed to mean if they aren't clicking and buying? "Visibility" means little when sales don't follow.
You may be seeing more sales because there are just less sellers now. Lots of folks got upset and left for several different reasons.
Not saying you are all wrong, just offering a perspective from another seller who is paying attention to their sales.

But now when I search in vinyl record, there is an item specific filter for "sleeve grading" that saves me a whole lot of time.
@luckythewinner
Thanks for your view on the subject. I have a question about this. Unless you ONLY want "Mint", would you not have to 'search again' (perhaps multiple times) if your acceptable parameters would also include Excellent, Near Mint, or Very Good+?
When I see those types of filters, I can only select ONE?
02-12-2022 02:05 PM
You can select more than one. I do it all of the time.
It saves a ton of time when I'm looking for something when there are a lot of the same item listed in a particular condition for example.

I've definitely noticed an increase in sales of items I've had listed for a long time (and by that I'm talking a year or more). I would assume this is due to them being more easily picked up in Google searches now.

Add me to the "none" list.

I've noticed an increase in my blood pressure, I can tell you that much.

I Think Everyone Summed It Up Just Right!!, Zip, Nada, Zilch!!

No.
The filters for record grading, sleeve grading, and record label all allow me to pick multiple values.

Item Specifics have been around for at least 12 years, my Category now has 3 REQUIRED Item Specifics, 2 of them I had always used anyway so I just had to add one to each of my listings.
You may have had unrealistic expectations if you thought you would get an instant and significant sales increase.
Item Specifics make it easier for buyers to find things to buy but since all sellers are using them there is no direct benefit to a single seller. On the other hand the fewer relevant IS that you use the greater the chance that a buyer will refine their search by an Item Specifics you left blank and your listing will then go poof in their search results.
