How is taking on debt from eBay gonna help my business when eBay is the one hurting it the most?

I find these eBay messages interesting sometimes.  I don't think they realize what is going on with their own site.  Having more money to buy inventory, and equipment isn't going to help.  What would really help my business is if eBay wasn't actively suppressing my listings and manipulating search results.  Maybe roll back some bad policies and enforce other buyer related policies while I am dreaming.

likely, once ebay gets you a loan, sales will start coming in since they know you need to repay the loan? Well, it wouldn't surprise me anyways.

Well the third part does kinda imply they want you to pay for the Promoted Listings scam.

Yeah, Debt to Ebay, sounds reasonable,

Maybe they should start a new campaign:

Boost your business with Ebay seller capital loan and reduce your potential 5% additional FVF seller metrics penalties to only 2.5% !!! 🤙

I use reverse engineering to translate emails from eBay about 'building' my business...  They give eBay the opportiunity to make more money.

Some folks need working capital to start a business and get is rolling along with enough inventory to start. It’s a good plan for a well thought out business. Novice folks should not rely on taking out huge loans until they have established themselves here but a little borrowing can help some people get the ball rolling.

There are millions and millions and millions of sellers on eBay.

Just because more money to buy inventory isn't going to help *you* does not mean there aren't any sellers who would welcome it.

If I recall correctly, a number of sellers have posted here saying that they relied on PayPal loans and hoped eBay would provide a similar service.

Perhaps not every other seller is struggling with eBay the way you seem to be.

Yeah, you are right, the venue can call this loan "The EIS"  -  "Ebay Indentured servitude" 😀

Too funny!  And probably about right!

We get these offers all the time from e-Bay and similar ones from Amazon.  If they had better terms or rates, we might consider it, but we have a fixed LOC at our bank that is a pretty good deal rate-wise and work hard to only tap it when we need to buy bulk inventory.  We owe nothing right now and I am grateful for that.

The APR on these loans are pretty high if I remember correctly. In any case, I don't think personally it's a wise choice to be taking loans for inventory in an ever increasing inflation economy, specifically for an ebay only business. Like most sellers, we are trying to move inventory out, not really to bring it in. I for one am not stocking as much as I was 6 months ago. I am listing more lately, just trying to clear stuff out I never put up or did before and took down or forgot about etc...
