I don't understand how it is acceptable to allow buyer's to say the item is not as described, get a full refund, & get to keep your merchandise. I shipped a Funko POP! EXCLUSIVE light up Iron Man to a customer. The POP was wrapped in plastic put in a box & the box was filled with packing peanuts. I got the shipment out the same day and it arrived to the customer a day ahead of expected delivery date. Then I get a return notification because the buyer says that the item is not as described. The buyer sends a picture of the POP & the Pop's factory packaging is filled with the packing peanuts & accusing me of opening the factory packaging and filling it with the packing peanuts therefore the item is not as described because I didn't state that there were peanuts inside the products box & that somehow the presence of foam bits in the packaging ruined the thing... Well, duh because I didn't put them in the original packaging & how do packing peanuts ruin a plastic toy? Why would I do this? It makes no sense, but the buyer gets a full refund and gets to keep my merchandise unless I pay them to send it back. This buyer in my opinion had a case of buyer's remorse and intentionally did this to get their money back and essentially stole my item. This is not the first time I have seen this, heard about it, or experienced it. It's ok to steal things as long as you complain about it first seems to be the lesson here.

The buyer got to keep the item because YOU allowed it and that's how a buyer can "steal" your item.
Couldn't have been too much of a big deal if it wasn't worth paying the return shipping.

The reason behind this event is your Returns policy states Seller does not accept returns.
The way ebay sees that is the MBG will issue a refund whether the item is returned to you or not.
Start accepting returns and buyers can no longer use this loophole.

I am not sure why users keep saying this?
eBay has an auto accepted policy on not as described return request now. ebay basically sends the buyer a return shipping label and will bill it to the sellers account once the first tracking scan takes place.

I agree. Sorry this happened to you. I don't think it's ethical for people to do this to sellers.

Why are you perpetuating that board myth?
Once a buyer opens a not as described MBG dispute, return policy has NOTHING to do with it. Just as with a 30 day return policy, the seller is expected to accept the return and pay for return shipping. If the seller does not, then the buyer gets a refund without a return.
There is no loophole.
Would you like me to prove it to you?

The OP (seller) indicated they just refunded versus actually paying return shipping and getting the item back.

The above link directs to a page covering 30-day returns policies.
This thread specifically speaks of No Returns policies.
Please see attached picture, which you may find by scrolling up from the link you sent.
Thank you.

In short, the MBG assures the seller will issue a refund regardless of item return.
The reason behind this event is the seller's Returns policy states Seller does not accept returns.
The way ebay sees that is the MBG will issue a refund whether the item is returned or not.
Start accepting returns and buyers can be forced to return the item for the refund.

Possibly this buyer is a collector and if the item came with the original packaging disturbed, and it was not as it would have been, they were concerned and so opened the not as described case.

Sorry you had this experience. I had a similar situation a few years ago. I listed some figures and one of the figure had a small sticker on its base that was in the photo, but the buyer got mad and wanted to know why the sticker was on the base. I told him the pictures clearly shows it and it could easily be removed (I had another figure with the same sticker and pulled it right off leaving no residue). Well he kept whining so I gave him half of his money back and then blocked him.
Later I listed a more rare figure and this same buyer sent me a message whining because he wanted it and I had him blocked and I told him why, that I lost half of my money for a tiny sticker that could of easily been peeled off and I wasn't dealing with him again. He lost out and I didn't care.
