After logiing in the home page pops up. One of those flashing banners stated "We match our competition's prices" or something like that.

How? eBay doesn't sell anything.

eBay doesn't let little things like that stop them. They're probably testing some new automatic "best offer" acceptance software on some unsuspecting sellers that will be flooding the boards soon.

eBay doesn't let little things like that stop them. They're probably testing some new automatic "best offer" acceptance software on some unsuspecting sellers that will be flooding the boards soon.

Look at the link I posted above. It does not apply to auction listings, only certain new items that are sold on other sites like Amazon, and only from sellers who are qualified to participate.

If you see an item at the competition that is priced lower than eBay, you can buy it here and eBay will issue an eBay coupon for the difference.

Wow, this is the first time that Cassini search manipulation can do something useful that it is supposed to.

ebay reads the cookies on your computer to see where you have looked and then tells Cassini to show items whose prices are cheaper than the places the buyer has looked at and all the higher priced ones are never seen.

I can't believe that the big bosses had the brains to figure out how to cash in on that.

So, either pay the actual discounted price to the competitor, or pay the full price here and then receive a coupon that I will most likely end up not using.  Nope.  Still not a well thought out plan.  But that is what I have come to expect from the pointy haired folk who concoct these hrebrained schemes that make things far more complicated than they should be.
