How do you increase impressions and page views? What factors control your limits?

Its 12pm, and I have less than 600 impressions and one page view. Any suggestions on how to increase those numbers?

I agree impressions are not views. Impressions are potential buyers who are scrolling and their eyeballs land on your listing whether they keep scrolling or click it. It becomes a view after the impression is clicked on by the potential buyer. You can't have the view without the impression.

Re: How do you increase impressions and page views? What factors control your limits?

I see variation listings in the top 20. That's why I was giving them a try.  Every time I do suggested on promotions, and view the selling fees over 50% I have a knee jerk reaction to grab my money back out of eBay's hand. I've only used auctions once. I was giving those first edition vintage books once last ditch effort to find a home. Who wouldn't want to sell in 7 days? Its what I would like, but I am still here persistently trying to sell. I feel like you and I have a different take on how buyers search. I believe resellers search brands and all that hoopla. I believe every day common folks search single words, such as puzzle or earrings or movies, and then scroll from there. I appreciate your input. Have a wonderful evening.

Re: How do you increase impressions and page views? What factors control your limits?

The problem I see with variation listings like that, I'm not going to scroll through all the titles just to see if you have the one movie I'm looking for.

Another thing, say you have one variation listing with 50 different movies.

If you had 50 different listings for those movies, you'd have a lot better chance of buyers finding them.

Have a great day.

Re: How do you increase impressions and page views? What factors control your limits?

You probably know this, but look at a puzzle that has sold and see what they used in the title.

FWIW, I currently have 4 puzzles listed and only 1 has views.  I don’t  know if people search for specific puzzles when they search (to use your example) but if they don’t, and you are correct they just search using  “puzzle” there are a zillion potentials for EBAY to show them and who knows, in that scenario, which they would choose other than promoted listings first, of course.

I see one of your puzzles you just say “ puzzle” and in the description you say a Disney puzzle.  You don’t say what the context is,,,,What is it? Mickey? Space Mountain? Daisy Duck?  People do puzzles by picking the photo.  You don’t even show the photo.   At minimal, you should have “Disney” in your title.

(But take my advice with a grain of salt there because no one is buying my puzzles either) lol

I really hope things pick up for you.  If I was rich, I’d buy you out and you could go and buy all new stuff.

It doesn't matter the amount of listings or the price. I've deleted many listings, and re-priced from $1 up. It doesn't make a difference. Well, except shoes. If I lower like-new shoes to $20, they'll sell. I'm not going to. I'm tired of giving my stuff away. The only reason you are seeing the high prices I have now is because I sway with the reseller youtubers. Caylee Elaine showed a haul, and every top she said, $25. She is killing it on eBay, so I'm trying $25. Flipping Hippos, Starr, is pricing her jewelry around $15-20, so I'm trying $10. The Great Reseller Life, James, is doing Buy 2 get 2 free, which I can't bring myself to do. That's too much product leaving for not enough money. I don't want to wholesale, to bundle, and reseller selling to reseller. I want top dollar for each item. I want to be a small retail with new stuff each week, I want to be a Dollar General, not a Walmart. I have limited space, and work alone. I am considering trying You Choose one variation listing for each category to see how that goes. Maybe I've let eBay down by not listing every day. Therefore, they don't value my store. I've noticed leaving comments increases views. Sorry for rambling. My mind is all over the place, and I am tired. I appreciate each and every one for the help. Thank you all.

I would not follow Youtubers so closely - there's a lot of rubbish promulgated on YT because anyone can make videos, and half of it is just ego. Plus, what they have may not necessarily work for what you have. It's better to take that stuff with a grain of salt and do your own research based on what YOU have - brands, desirability, design, style, etc., in clothing and accessories, ended items, one style in a brand may fetch considerably more than another, what's in now, etc. etc. $25 for one brand may be realistic, for another not. Shoes are tough sell unless they're very in demand. "Top dollar" is a slippery concept because it's so much determined by the market, by how much people are willing to pay. Same with a lot of stuff.

eBay won't devalue your store if you don't list daily, but what listing some new items every day, or at least frequently does, is show your items at the top of the search for a period of time, attracting impressions, which attracts views, which attract attention to your other items. Comments here make no difference whatsoever, though.

You've already got a start - just keep going.

ETA: I'm a solo operation also, from acquiring inventory to prepping it, researching it, photoing, etc., everything. I used to do this full-time, it's a big job, no doubt, I get that clearly.

Only sales really matter.   Page views are a bird in the bush.

Lol, thank you for the laugh. I love your sense of humor. If I had the opportunity to buy new stuff I'd probably get stuck in analysis paralysis.

Re: How do you increase impressions and page views? What factors control your limits?

I feel that way about huge stores. I don't want to scroll and scroll and scroll. I'd rather see a few listings, then move on to the next store. It is a concern whether or not buyers will click on a variation listing to view all the items. I did have those 50+ single listings in dvds. I deleted them all to try variation listings to see if buyers would buy more than one. Numbers was the first variation, and movie titles beginning with A would be the next, then on down the line. I wasn't going to list A's until one sold in Numbers. Same with my nail polish. If one sells I'll list another unopened box as a variation listing. But, after being here, I am probably not going to continue with variations. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

I would suggest putting the numerical part for your location in the Custom Label (SKU) field instead.  We do that, and it shows up on the Awaiting Shipment page so you can easily reference it (at least when there's not a glitch like there was the other week).  That frees up valuable title space for you.
