How does one turn off those annoying slide-in nontifications that appear in the upper right corner of the browser any time there is an offer, an expired offer, an item is sold, etc? They are ungodly annoying.
Even worse is that they won't go away after being dismissed. I have 5 "Expired Offer" slide ins that keep coming back every time I go to a new page on eBay, even after I have manually dismissed them and gotten the "You're All Caught Up!" message.
For GOD'S SAKE, eBay, get the [CENSORED] out of my way!!

Unfortunately, I don't ever see them - whether due to using older browsers, the Adblock Plus rules, GreaseMonkey scripts, Stylish CSS rules, and domain blocks I use (or all of those together) - so can't help with the specific rule as I can't see the page source to determine what needs to be blocked. And it would be hard to test since I sell and buy relatively little and would not be using a newer version test browser all day long waiting around for one of those events to occur.
Rebooting the computer is pointless, but completely signing out of eBay using https://signinalert.ebay.com/sgninalrt/sessions? , then clearing the browser cache and cookies and restarting the browser might shake some of the persistent sliders off.

I haven't seen any for a while. Can't remember, but I'm pretty sure I smited those dragons with the AdBlock Element Hiding Helper Sword.
Forget keeping up with the Joneses. Be the Finklegrubers!
OK kids, time to get the Dodge loaded up again. I hear 'Poppy's By the Tree' calling. This trip might be a long one too.
