How do I handle this buyer?

A buyer purchased two products from me.

She says they arrived in a soaking wet mailer and the PO had put them in another bag. They were liquid products so... I apologized and told her to file for a refund through eBay so I could get her money back to her. I know I pack well but stuff happens, no big deal.

Got another message. Buyer says she just opened the package and one item is perfectly fine, it's just a problem with the second one. Can I send her another one? I tell her I can't, I don't have anymore. I, again, ask her to file for a refund. She says she will do that.

She doesn't and I don't hear from her for a couple of days. She wrote me this morning asking if I will send her a completely unrelated product that I have for sale as an exchange.

I haven't responded and I don't want to do that. Is that even allowed on ebay? At this point, this seems so odd to me. What to do?

Thanks

Re: How do I handle this buyer?

people who fly have also experienced thier items like small handcreme bottles and their pens exploding.

Yep, this happened to me.

I had a pen in my pocket when I flew to the US.

The pen exploded and the ink destroyed my jacket..

Re: How do I handle this buyer?

My 1st one, I was told I made a mistake by refunding on my own through PayPal and not going through eBay.

You can refund, partial or full, thru PP on your own, and it is correctly calculated when it matters.  Of course, refund the transaction rather than send money.

The nuttier buyer sounds, the more formal seller needs to go.  That's what prompts me to think that buyer should be expected to file a case here.  Once the case is filed, then you can refund through the case.

I did not ship liquids in an envelope... So no, it wasn't really relevant.

I guess your first post has confused many of us as to how you  mailed your product.

"She says they arrived in a soaking wet mailer and the PO had put them in another bag"

If a mailer, or another bag, isn't referring to an envelope, then maybe explaining what you did would help this discussion to be more relevant.

The problem with that is that is if the buyer doesn't mention a partial in the case options, then the entire payment will be held and forced to refund.  Sometimes it is better if there is no case, especially if the buyer is telling the truth.
