When I sell an item, ship it and know the buyer has received it, No one ever leaves feedback. I have 1175 positives 100 % ,and I don't understand why no feedback is left. I leave it as soon as the buyer pays for the item, but wait to see if the item is acceptable when I buy. Am I being silly or do I actually need Feedback? Is it permissable to ask the buyer if he is pleased with the transaction?
Thanks

I have 360 some FB, all positive about my super fast shipping, and great service.
That is out of somewhere north of 1500 sales.
As a new seller, I liked getting FB... but I liked the money better.
Now I just give my buyers FB, and don't even care if they leave it for me.
I have 2 FB as a buyer, both sellers gave it when I paid, both said super fast payer.
Funny ain't it, I have been selling for years and just now had my first buying experiences.
But I would not have been upset if they had left none.
As a seller I know FB for buyers is nothing more than a thank you.
And I did not even look at the sellers FB, I ask both if the item would work for my truck.
And they responded super fast, and that is good enough for me.
New sellers are often told to not sell items worth more than their FB number.
Or not sell items unless you can afford to lose them.
We need to come up with a better line.
Someone take my temp, I made a whole post without being crass.

Yep ... the store ID is about to hit the dreaded "number of the beast" where, by all accounts, it will get stuck for a while LOL
When that happens, my ID will get pushed to the top of the list ... be watching for it in the next week or so ....

Be careful asking for FB. You just might get it.

Hi there,
Thank you for your reply.
It seems,or perhaps I misunderstood, thatsome people I posted my question because I wanted more feedback or something of the sort.NO! I have lots of feedback,so that is not it at all. I simply wanted an answer, and I have received several replies in which I got very good answers. I have been away from Ebay for several years. I have recently come back. Many things have changed and I was asking because I truly wanted to know. Perhaps I should have phrased it a different way.
Thanks for all your replies.

Hi Lorikal,
Thank you so much for your reply. You said it so well I can't add to it.
As I said in my post today, I have been away fro eBay several years now,and I have just come back recently. I am an old lady (82) now, lost my husband of 63 years, last year and need to down size my collectibles and "stuff". So that is the main reason I am back.
I asked the question because I truly wanted to know. With my customers, I try to wrap and package items in a way they will get to the destination safely, and am always upfront and honest as I know how to be. (My dad taught me that long ago.)
So I want you to know ,because you have been so nice, that I simply needed to know the answer to that question, and meant nothing else by it. Oh and I haven't asked many questions on the forum...
Thank you for understanding. Oh,the file is one of my main interests. Hope you enjoy it.

Well, in my case I'm doing life+20 at Pelican Bay. When the guards drink the stuff we brew and pass out, we get on their I-phones and surf these boards and screw with their Facebook, order stuff on Amazon etc. So, yes we have PLENTY of time for this !!!

Seriously, does a day go by without a seller wanting more feedback?
You will get some, leave when the buyer does
Do NOT poke the bear by asking, this can irritate a buyer who is on the fence abt the item!
Don't be a feedback collector, the seller with the most does not win!

The movie "Groundhog Day' should be remade in the eBay version, "Feedback Day" and then we could just post clips from that as a response.

How do I get people to add feedback?
You don't. If they want to, they will.
It's voluntary.
You have 1175 feedbacks, so don't worry about it.
NEVER ask for feedback. You might not like what you get. NO one likes to be dunned for feedback.

Don't worry about the sarcastic replies. There was nothing wrong with your question.
I don't care about feedback (unless it's bad). Nonexistent feedback is just as good as positive i.e. they both mean as little as any other magical internet upvote or karma or thumbs up. I never mention leaving feedback to a buyer at any point. I will notice if I've done something extra for a buyer and they still don't leave it, but I just shrug that off. Maybe one third of my buyers leave feedback, including return buyers who were obviously happy with their first purchase. It's just not a priority for buyers. Though I always leave it as a buyer because I have an annoyingly naggy good-girl conscience.
I really cringe at sellers who leave harsh replies to their bad feedback. Just saw one replying "there's always some a**hole..." to a rather mild comment. So unprofessional.
If you're 100% you're all good! Let the rest of it roll off your back.

@phanoto wrote:The way for you to get a larger percent of your customers to leave feedback is for all other sellers to leave feedback for a larger percent of their customers.
The main reason we have feedback for buyers is that it causes more buyers to leave feedback when sellers participate.
I beg to differ. If it caused more buyers to leave feedback, we wouldn't have so many sellers stating they leave feedback at payment but never receive feedback from the buyer.
